Can't wait to see more ! That's one of those kits I want...just to play with. I could see some really fun 'touch and goes' on the coffee table.

I've got one of those cool Hobbycraft 1/144 B-36s in the Ceiling Fleet. Mine has a wingspan of around 16 inches and a fuselage length of about 13 inches.

How the hell did I miss this thread? Fantastic, Mike!

Baldrick: I followed Mr Da Vinci's instructions to the letter.
Blackadder: Even though you can't actually read.
Baldrick: No, but I have done a lot of Airfix models in my time.

MAD

Its ironic that it was the USAF`s B-36 project that directly competed with the US Navy's America Class super carrier to give the primary means to deliver the atomic bomb against the Soviets – The US Navy lost, and the America Class carrier was scrapped on the slipway!

It would make a kind of just dessert to the US Navy when later on the USAF would be forced by that dill Robert McNamara to except the McDonnell F-4 Phantom II into its service (originally as the F-110) in place of any new built Republic F-105 Thunderchief`s

But could you imagine the loitering time on station and the range of this MP/ASW Peacemaker!
Although I do not think the jet pods would be needed in this low altitude role, where it would spend most of its time!
After all the radial engine was far more fuel efficient at low altitude than the turbojet!

Good luck

MAD

Just another thought, but due to the MP/ASW Peacemaker spending most of its time at low altitude (except maybe during transit from base to its patrol area) it may even be advisable to have clipped wings (shorter wingspan). The clipped wings would help with buffeting at lower altitudes – especially over water!
Just a thought
