For any of you folks who dont think you have time for the Falklands GB I though I'd post this.  Started at noon today, finished at 10:30.  Dirt cheap Airfix kit with no fancy extras.

more pics and backstory in the GB forum, so drop by and visit!

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Captain Canada

Wow ! That's awesome ! What did you paint it with ? And what colours are those ?

I painted it with "paint".  The colors are called "green" and gray".

:P  :P

But seriously folks...

Both colors are from Tamiya rattlecans.  The gray is RAF Ocean Gray and hte green is "Olive Drab II".  The green is not an RAF color, but I like how it looks and it was the closest I had.  I figure at a remote RAF outpost like the FI matching paint colors may not be high on the list of priorities.  The masking was done with Blu-tac.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Neat.

Often wondered about doing a Gnat.

Always thought that a two seater might make a worthwhile fast FAC, with just a couple of RPs under the wings, but I always worried about range.

Your Falkands example give me a way around that: make it in the colours of a little country.

Very nice.

Whatever.

Howard of Effingham

classy!

btw there are several modeldecal and xtradecal sheets with these and other
falkands options on for harrier GR3's, also one by skymodels.

:dum: i forget the modeldecal sheet  number though.  :dum:

Brian da Basher

P.S. Those colors look great, even if they're not 100% "accurate".

Dork the kit slayer

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die
