My coworkers thought a gift exchange was a "typically geeky model-builder kind of thing to do."  How geeky is this?  The obligatory box-cover shot.  Side-views coming soon but with ME holding the kit's box!

Rallymodeller will be proud to know that JHM's been a very busy boy today: all bits painted and all sub-assemblies together.  This is just such a phenomenal kit to donate to someone so I'm doing my best to make sure Rallymodeller's generosity is not wasted at my end.

Going for a VERY weathered look on this third-world baby (note wheel wells).

Wanted to see if I could modify one of my all-time favorite pilot figures from seated to standing...we'll see if I can pull this off.  Here is the rough stage he's in so far:

Baz, you keep letting switches in the ON position!!

Man, I admire your talents. Cockpit detailing is something of a water I don't dare to wade into yet.

And the pilot, well, I'm sure whatever you do to make him fit inside the tub will be worthy of seeing.

Muy bueno!!!

Edit: About the pilot, was it the other way around??? (where's the blind emoticon????

I see that wonderful exposed navel in the first image and all I can think about is asking Barry if he has ever had the opportunity to consume brandy or cognac from that navel.....?

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have an airframe.
Albeit a scruffy one, I'm happy with the day's work.

Wow that's some absolutely amazing work Mr Howling Mouse. You're modifying the pilot for a future "holding the box" shot, right?

I am in complete awe of your skill and talent. Where's my mudpies? ;)
