What To Do With A F/A-18F ?

I voted for an Aussie hornet as the backstory would be the easiest to do plus a nice blue gray scheme would be different on top and bottom.

I voted "other" as I agree with AeroplaneDriver. RNZAF in the European 1 colours. As soon as I get my F-18F profile finished I'll show you how I see it in my minds eye.

Of course Israeli, Japanese (in the F.2 camo scheme), Saudi, Finish, Royal Navy/Air Force, RAAF (in one of those Mirage experimental schemes!) and of course my all time favorite African!

Israeli would be fantastic (simple, no F-15 I Thunder nor F-16I Souffa in the late 90's)

French navy, with a full load of Exocet
OR
an ASMP and some drop tanks
OR
some MICAs.
Backstory is not too difficult to write, the French navy had interest for the basic Hornet various time in the 80's.
Even better, in 1987 MDD proposed to scrap the Rafale M and replace it by some licence build  Hornet 2000... the Superbug ancestor.

Japanese (in the F-2 sheme ) would be cool. Aaaargh, how to chose ?

I really enjoy some of your proposals (Kuwait, RAAF, RAN, RNZAF!!!, or the Japanese)
But sadly, I don't have any of those decals in this scale (and I admit that I prefer buying 1/72, because I could put them on any other "whatif", like I usually do "whifs" in 1/72)...

But I admit that a Super Hornet in RNZAF colors could be very interesting!!



So, for the moment, and if I look at what I could technically do, the Top 3 is:

-The Taïwanese Air Force / Navy
-Israeli Air Force
-Argentinian Navy

I have to add to that a lot of proposals for Kuwait, RAAF/RAN/RNZAF and JSDAF...



For the moment, I admit that I still don't chose definitively.
I initially thought about doing a large and great splinter camo, but a friend of mine just told me that his mother (an artist) just bought a airbrush and that if I want I could test it on my models!

But well, maybe I could do a very big splinter camo with the help of the airbrush?!

I'm the only one who voted French.  I remember that the French Navy were offered the "legacy" F/A-18 in the late 80s or early 90s to replace the F-8s on Foch and Clemenceau.  Had those units gone into service, it would be natural for the follow-on Super Hornets to go into service on Charles de Gaulle.  Yes, I see it now.  Fighter/attack duties could be split between an all-Hornet air group (with E-2s for AEW), leaving no need whatever for that Rafale thing.

Well, it all depend on your backstory!!
Inspired by a story by Archibald, I wrote something, months ago, where France staid in the Typhoon program. In fact, two variant of the "Typhoon" were build: one with RR engines and a mechanical antenna radar for air-air purpose (Germany, Italy and UK), and another one with SNECMA engines (I just always enjoy the american concept of double engine contractor for a single aircraft!   ) and Thales radar for multipurpose/strike abilities (France, Spain and later Netherland)...

Due to the lack of new fighter for French Navy, I imagined two different backstory: one with a modernised (French engines and systems) F/A-18C (the one on the drawing), and another solution, more realistic, with a classic Super Hornet!!
That's why I placed this choice on the poll !!!
