John Howling Mouse

Represents a bona fide pinnacle in my books.  Cannot imagine how you could possibly improve on that.

Seriously.

This is what I can only call "ridiculously good," Matrixone!
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Eddie M.

Have you posted these at Rivet Counters R Us yet? ;)   You could make a killing as a commissioned modeler. Outstanding work and superb presentation! Thanks for sharing this with us. B)

Thanks very much for the kind words John and Eddie!

Eddie, no I have not posted this on ''Rivet Counters R Us'' yet, I think I will wait a week or two so I can brace myself for the attacks from the color police, the Modeldads, and the rivet counters. :D  It JUST a model, why attack the model builders for what they think is the right colors, rivet pattern, and basic aircraft shape.

Already today my Volksjager was thought to be marked with the wrong upper wing crosses according to an expert at L.E.M.B. The funny thing is I know with little doubt that I am correct and have chosen the correct upper wing crosses! Instead of getting upset and try to prove my point I thanked the expert and moved on to something else. :) If L.E.M.B. is that bad what will HS be like?

Thanks very very much for the kind words ysi_maniac!

This Hasegawa kit is quite good and a nice model can be made OOB, if you have not built one of these kits before, try one, you will not be sorry! Even for a 1/32 scale model it does not take up much shelf space because the 109 was not a very big aircraft.

Matrixone, that is superb work, what paint do you use? acrylic or enamel?
and by the way i think your weathering is spot on,more often than not less is more and this work of yours is a prime example. .....oh, and darn nice camera work too..
my hovercraft is full of eels

Thank you bluntie!

I use Model Master II enamels, they work very well with my Badger 150.
The colors were lightened by adding some white to them, out of the bottle they might match the color charts but look too dark when used on a model.
The weathering looks O.K. but I did not weather it as much I should have, this airplane was from the Eastern front and survived the war so it was very well used and maybe not that well maintained, my model of it is a little too clean. My next late war 109 will look a little more ragged than this one. :)
