Fantastic!!!  :o  I've never heard about this before... turboprop DC-3s      (love the one with the 3 *PT-6A)
Archie, there's at least one other company that offer a Turbo Dak & they seem to be still converting them.  The Basler Turbo 67 or BT-67 is a re-engined Dak with further modifications to bring it (partly at least) up to modern standards.  It's amazing that the DC-3 is still in service & even being offered as 'new' by a handful of small companies.  Wonder-plane!

I've got Revell kit that I was going to paint up in real-world Rasberry Ripple, but it's donating it's wings to my Secret Santa project.  Think I'll get another & still do the RAE machine, but now I've got a fuselage spare with nothing planned.  Hmmmm.....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Well, it's not an airliner or cargo bird, but there is the NAR-349.  *chuckle* For that matter, there's the whif a gent in Norhtern California did that combines a Yak-17 fuselage with wings and engines from a Me-262; he finished it in Italian markings.

You mean Craig Burke? He (and you, IIRC) were on the German Projects list I ran about 8-9 years ago. He sent me several of his whiffs and I put them up on a page on my web site.

The North American Savage was also a three engine machine with two reciprocating engines and a jet engine mounted in the fuselage.  "Two Turning And One Burning" is a prhase that is apparently attributed to this aircraft.

Not jets, but if one must land on water:

BV-138
Do-24

I'm not sure about the Goodyear Blimp....that one might be just two....

There's this B-25 pusher prop variant but I hear it's a LOT of work...   :P

One of my favorites is the Heller Arc-en-ciel:

Sadly out of production for decades.

Yep, the same.  I'd early got pics of some of his stuff at one year's (1986?) IPMS/USA Nats in Sacramento.  Some truly gorgeous stuff that I think Alvis would appreciate.

Oh, and for the record, the latest incarnation of that list is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gpl/

It's not as active as it's been in the past, but still a good group.

Wasn't there a version of one of the early Northrop monoplanes with three Curtiss Conqueror engines?

Hell Jon.

BdB would have to be in hog heaven with this thread.  When you said 3 engined 110, I was actually expecting one of the photoshopped jobbies from Unicraft's asymetric spinoff.

Any info on the wing engines?

regards,

John
