While I havent cut plastic on my Falklands build (Dont even have the kit yet  ), thought I would share this w/you guys as I've set part of the story during Corporate: Churchill B.3  (You'll have to scroll down a bit to get to it.)

And, here's the Build thread.

I plan on building a buddy tanker Buff to go with the B.3, and this will be my entry (assuming I get the time   )

One step closer thanks in part to my GF, I now have a $30 giftcard to waste at the local Hobby-Lobby (hopefully there's a BUFF kit around)!

Dont forget to wait until they either have a 30-50% off sale or they have a 40% off online coupon.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

And I'm glad I did, as the minicraft B-52H doesnt look like it's worth $25 :o

Never the less, $16 later I have my Falklands GB kit, now I just need to find the time to build.

What was the BB Vulcans camo? Med gray and med. green with dark sea gray undersides? I'm thinking about doing something similar for my Buff tanker but I wanted to get the colors nailed down.

Also, What markings did the Victor/Vulcan tankers wear to aid in the hook-up process? I recall something about a very noticible orange, but maybe I'm imagining things again.

Tomorrow mate, I've spent all evening working on her and I'm about the halfway point. Looks like tomorrow's gonna be one of my infamous "1 hr work" days, so I'll have time to get more done & snap pics before I start packing to go home Fri. afternoon.

Underside shot, I started filling in the gaps in the wings by running a bead of medium CA then taking a Q-tip down the joint.

Closeup of the wing PSR, took a hint from IHG (or was it AD? BdB? Avon lady? ) and used masking-tape to prevent excess filler going everywhere. Again I used the Q-tip methud of getting the putty right where I wanted it.

At first I eye-balled the BB colors as Dk. Ghost grey/Dk. Green over Euro-1 gray, now I'm thinking that it was closer to Lt. GHost gray on top. Still fiddlin w/t camo plus need to get thr engine pods together, finish sanding the new tail fairing & mount the wingtanks and HDUs.

Nice Buff, looking forward to the Tanker version.

Slight OT, but I did dredge-up another kit that I had an idea for that fits in, looks like I'm goin 2 for 2.

back on topic, started painting the external tanks, also dug up a couple of AIM-9s and a ECM pod to mount mid-wing, finished up the new tail fairing and added a few new goodies. I hope to put some time on it before I leave tomorrow, if not then it'll be whenever I get a chance between classes n stuff.

After receiving a box of paint from Shas sr, I was finally able to re-start progress on this bird yesterday evening after I returned from my wkend trip to southern Arkansas (Still dunno why I did that  ). After relising that I got the wrong colors (MSG instead of EDSG, GD!) and finding a suitible substitute (US Dk gull gray), I got the extra u/w bits painted, some test shots done on the fuselage and started filling in the IFR probe on the upper fuselage. With any luck I should make more progress on it next wkend inbetween working on my topic paper for Eng. 303.
