Aeroplane Driver was nice enough to give me the 1/72 Italeri As-532 Cougar/Super Puma for the Secret Santa build.  After tossing around a few ideas, I have decided to build it in the Cougar configuration, probably as a USMC CSAR machine.  I love this kit, as the exterior detail is great.  The interior, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired.  The cockpit is fairly complete, but the passenger compartment is bare.  I've been crawling all over "Blood, Sweat and Tears", so I have a pretty good idea of what parts I'll need: recue hoist, bench seats, M60 or M240 door guns, etc.  I just don't know what kit I could harvest these things from, and 1/72 is too tiny for a modeler of my skills to scratch stuff.  Is there a 1/72 CH-46, or similar helo?

Italeri makes an HH-60 with machine guns.  Don't recall if it's got a rescue hoist at the moment, but I know it's got guns.

Airwaves & Aeroclub do a GMPG which is designed to fit a Puma, not sure if you can get these easily in the US though?

The Airfix Sea King has a hoist IIRC.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

the Italeri HH-53C "Jolly green giant" in 1/72 has a hoist as well as 1/72 scale "Miniguns" for the doorways & ramp you co9uld swipe those and still have a full HH-53 to Whiff

Well if you don't try you'll never do it, I'll bet $50 you could knock some stuff up, I did for my Rotodyne. Failing that let me scout around I may have some spare benches that Todd sent me for said project.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

The Italeri UH-1D is a pretty good kit for the parts bin. It's got two hoists, and the rotor baldes for the newer 4-bladed versions. It also has nench seats and a radar nose, as well as lots of aerials and stuff.

hmm, the original airfix sea king with the decals for the SH-3 that was used in
several of the apollo missions has a rescue litter and figure. the later airfix seaking
has a winch.

anthonyp is right the italeri HH-60H does have a single gun, but for useful extra
bits try hasegawa's HH-60 in 1/72. it comes with some figures [molded in stryene
btw] that are armed and useful for CSAR type models. the fixed IFR probe may
also be of use to you from the hasegawa kit.

most 1/72 chinook models have a winch in the kit iirc and the airfix HH-53 will
also give you a molded cargo hook as well.

Thanks for all the ideas.  I'll have to sit on them till mid-month, as I'm poor till next payday, but hopefully I'll be able to chase some of this stuff down.
