I met John Farley in dec 2005. A pleasent gent to talk to and very very well informed.
He was guest of honor at my squadrons awards night. I had a small line up of hawker projects on display as part of the model project stand.  he was rather forthright in his comments regarding the P1154 and the TSR-2, considering both bad ideas (he started getting technical, witch went over my head, so im not going into details), yet when he caught site of the P1216 built by geoff B his comments changed to compleatly positive. " thats the one we realy should have had!!!" .

He may no longer be test flying, but he is still deeply involved in the industry, and in teaching the next generation as a sponsor of the Aerospace challenge set up.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Good read. He made some interesting comments in that thread wrt the efficiency of the F-35's power plant.
