These three aircrafts (or projects) represent a new generation of trainers. As we all know, there's tons of whatif to make with trainers (I think about the Patrouille de France, frecce tricolori...)
so is there some models of the new trainers ?
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Amodel do a 1/72 kit of the Yak-130, which was the basis for the M-346:

I've heard about someone doing a resin T-50, but I don't remember whom or how much it might cost.  I suppose one could kitbash one using parts from F-16 and F/A-18.

I don't know about the Mako.

The Javelin is cool!!! A french firm, Avdef (aviation defence) bought 10 aircrafts. Aparently the Aeronavale need those aircrafts for a wide variety of missions...

Honestly I think they will never be a model of MAko : the project seem dead...  :(
A pity, cause the single-seat variant could have a competitor to the F-35,  a low cost alternative to the Eurocanards (Mirage 2000 replacement) and a Jaguar replacement for CAS ...
I think the best basis for a Mako could be a Italeri X-35. But a lot of plastic butchering and PSR would be needed...  ;)

 You could try contact revell or anigrand and ask them if theyve got plans for one

Eurocanards! Whats that? How does it look? I didnt know the Mirage 2000 was already planned to be replaced :(

ive seen the M-346 on the paris air show back in 2005, with a weapons load. and to be honnest, it would make a great fighter to replace the Mirage F-1 or the older hawk aircraft.
here's the pic i took back then of the 1st prototype. note the cannon pod under the fuselage.

potential export countries:

Belgium: to replace the Alfa-Jets and a provide an addition for the F-16 (and/or its replacement) in the CAS and training role.

Finland: To replace hawk and additional ground attack squadrons.

Britain: (was under consideration, but they opted for Hawk T2.) i would say about 50 of them to replace the Jaguars and Hawks instead of the Typhoon.
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Then there's the A/T-6 Texan  :)

Given that finland is neighbour to russia, and has experiance with russian planes/tanks, i would suspect they would opt for the Yak-130

Eurocanards = the Typhoon, Rafale and Gripen.

I think "Eurocanards" is the collective term for the Gripen, Typhoon, & Rafale; the European canard fighters.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The Yak has a shorter sharp nose, and stealthy air intakes. Engine exhausts are placed further in front. Also has wingtip missie rails and canopy is slightly different. Vertical stabilizor is shorter than the italian (by just a little), and the Yak uses up to 100 meters more than M-346 (380 meters for Yak-130, 280 meters for M-346)

Greece is a partner on the Yak-130/M-346 program

I'm seriously thinking about butchering an Italeri X-35 to obtain a mako...

QuoteArchibald, you forgot the Mig-AT

and Aero L-159

http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/l159/
Amodel also does a kit of the MiG-AT.

The L-159 isn't actually a trainer at all, though it was developed from the Aero L-39 Albatros trainer family. The L-159 ALCA is a single seat light strike aircraft, training for it is done through the L-39.

If you want an L-39, Eduard makes some nice 1/72 ones and MPM does one in 1/48. As for the L-159 itself, the only kit done of it is a rather disapointing 1/72 resin rendition by Legato, it does a passable job of representing the prototype but thats about it. I really do wish Eduard would retool the L-39 or reissue it with conversion parts to make a production L-159.
