Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

Glenn Gilbertson

After the Battle of Britain it became apparent that Spitfire and Hurricane production would be adequate for RAF needs, and that the panic take-over of the French-ordered Curtiss 81A was unnecessary. The type had light armament, no armour and throttles operating in the opposite sense to British aircraft. Roosevelt was keen to keep a relationship with the Vichy French regime, so it was decided that the aicraft could be delivered to French Indo-China in the hope that resolve would be strengthened to resist Japanese expansion.

McGreig

Well, I've run out of time, so you'll just have to imagine the canopy frames, but here's the pulse jet test bed. Not in the same class as JHM and Cthulhu and not as imaginatively lunatic as Rafa's entry, but at least it's finished.

Brian da Basher

That's a fine entry, McG! I really like the color scheme and amrkings and I think your addition of the pulse-jets is truly inspired! Nice work!
