Molak paints are my favorit. Same coding as humbrol, however matt colours will ALLWAYS STAY MATT!    Tins are also larger. Only problem is that thinner seems to evaporate, thus you need to add more every time you paint with it (however it allways gives perfect result)

Molak? mmmm... They are perefct to paint figures, but for planes I prefer humbrol. I mean Humbrol gives better surface looking painting with brush. This is my opinion.

But in both cases, stir very well before using.

BTW: Are Molak still on production?

Yes, apparently. The shop i bought them at sold them instead of humbrol paints, coz humbrol had gone into bancrupcy at that time.

Humbrol red.....the glossy one I used on my CCG Merlin chopper. I've painted a few models by brush with the stuff, and can't believe the coverage and finish from just one coat.

I also really like Testors Flat Gray. Great stuff, and dries in a heartbeat.

Tremclad rust paint in the spray cans is wicked stuff as well, especially their aluminium.

Humbrol for me, but I've got too admit I haven't tried anything else in years.  I'm yearning to try acrylics, I'll probably get hold of some for my next build.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

xtracrylix-sprays well and dries quickly. White Ensign enamels-spray well and dry slow....

I do fondly remember the Humbrol Authentics range but I find the Xtracrylic range excellent as is White Ensign for those colours not carried by the former. Still use some Humbrol though and will give their acrylic range a go when it comes out.

By the way Xtracrylic have a new colour out - Hemp for all you modern RAF nuts

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Big fan of the late lamented Aeromaster acrylics.

Xtracrylics would be better if they had a bigger hole on top of the bottle - impossible to see you brush as it disappears into the dark abyss........pot luck as to how much (if any) paint your brush holds when it comes back up.

I couldn't agree more Nev - frustration city  <_<

I used to love the old-style Humbrol flats. They used to dry absolutely flat and with no brush marks whatsoever. Then something happened and they wouldn't go on properly any more. It seems they changed their formula to make them easier to airbrush. I fool around with my basic airbrush and much prefer airbrushing flats than gloss.

If I can get them here in Australia I would now go for Agama authentic enamels. They're wonderful. I once bought some tins but supply has dried up.

Model Master II enamels...they are the easiest to airbrush the mottled or squiggle type camouflage patterns as used on WWII German fighters.
Aeromaster enamels were good too but did not spray as fine as Model Master paints, Aeromasters colors were much closer to the RLM shades however.
