Saw this title yesterday in the Ian Allen bookshop and did a double-take. It's not a story of ol' Biggles, Algy and Ginger serving in the modern RAF in 1982 but more a graphic novel telling the story of how the Conflict happened and turned out.

The story telling is quite simple and straightforward, demonstrating how the people on both sides had pretty much the same feelings and how the battles were fought and medals won. The artwork is nicely done with action shots and recognisable famous faces.

It is mainly about the flying but the naval and land actions get a good look-in with the Task Force sailing south and the Army marching over the mountains.

Best of all, this is just the first in a series. The back cover advertises the next book as Biggle Recounts: The Battle of Britain and internet blurb suggests there are more stories of famous aviation events to follow.

Got both....they must be rep[rints, although come to think of it, mine might be in Flemish or something as a lot are published in Belgium.
Biggles is BIG in Belgium.
It's a while since I looked at them.
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Bought this one five years ago. Good reading, albeit there's some goofs... (no reheat on Skyhwak, so there's no way lamenting about  ;) )
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
