Much more likely, yes.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It's difficult to see how it could have carried 8000 kg
If this is a fantasy of 1941, all is possible: this is the what-if spirit of the old times. 80,000kg would be "possible" as well, in dreams ;)

The latest Unicraft kits are based on 3D printed masters. That means that the fit is a lot better and also the finish of the parts is smoother than it used to be. Still not perfect of course but is is getting better!

If I had £120 spare I might plump for it, it's my favourite from Japanese Secret Projects.  As Nick says, it was done for an article and not a serious project.  Cracking machine though.

Here's Ronnie Olsthoorn's art that appears in the book:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

If he's still using the same crap resin, it doesn't matter how good the masters are.  Think of it as having the recipe for the perfect Shepherd's Pie - and then using dog food for the meat.

Thanks Tom. I may well be tempted, not by this !, but by one of his other recent tooling's  ;D No idea why, but every now and then I just feel the urge, it's either that or the Monastery.

It's easy to just disqualify Unicraft kits as junk. However I built quite a few of them and they are of topics you will find nowhere else and also completing a kit like that gives you a sense of accomplishment. More than just shaking a Tamigawa kit in the box to get it together. Not to say that I don't enjoy the latter from time to time.  ;)

If you don't like them, don't buy them. If you want to be challenged, give them a try.

I agree with you, Tom.
It is always a challenge, but getting some kind of success from this challenge is a satisfaction too. <_<

Well I have only one of their kiys.

..which is why I happily put up with Mach 2. As we'll never see the bigger (and better) manufacturers issue these particular and peculiar items, I'm happy to get anything at all. In my view, it's a lot better having an admittedly awful starting point than having to scratch all the way. Yes, I'm lazy.

Totally agree with you Tom, no one is twisting anyone's arm to buy them ---- and I've got a few of them too, some built, others in the pile to be built.

Totally agree Tom  I've built a few and I've always felt a sense of achievement once I've finished them. I need to be in the right mood but when I am  It will be interesting to compare his recent tooling's with some of the older ones as well.

I've got one Unicraft kit, and I keep on taking a look and putting it away again. Once I get home I may bite the bullet and start it.

Doesn't mean I'll finish it of course, not with my record of unfinished projects!  :o

I've had a v2.0 Airfix Lancaster in the stash since late 1980 (IIRC it was the original stash item) so best I don't get a Unicraft kit!

I've built three Unicraft kits and have another four waiting - most of them are of a type I campaigned to have kitted and Unicraft was the one that came to my
rescue but over the last year I've truly struggled to work on them.

They're real passion projects but it's just so daunting.
