OK......cars.

Cars of all varieties, but in:

:o Civil Airline colours

 Military colours

Like, a VW Beetle in RLM 70/71 splinter with '109E markings?

Like some big '60s US car (I'm not very good at cars) in SEAsia colours.

Ah....the assylum becomes more active.

I'm not very "into" cars really, because essentially to me they're utterly boring. Just a means of getting to one place from another in the most efficient way.

But I like VW Beetles, cause I owned three.
The shape of the original Beetle is so delightful....I loved the Beetle 1303S too and I owned a couple of those. Fabulous.

There were of course German military Beetles right up until the 1980s, and the SS had their own ( VW Model 92) version.

VWs appeal, but I can see some other types appearing as well. Depends if I can fall on cheap, easy to build car kits at model shows. I'm sure I can

Years ago when I lived and worked on a boat in the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor in Hawaii there was a Subaru station wagon around that was painted in late 30s Japanese China campaign cammo, with hinomaru on the doors.

I have a photo somewhere, I'll try to dig it out and make a scan.

I'd thought of something Nissan or Mitsubishi in "Zero" colours....

and the various BMW, Porsche, Mercedes variants just DEMAND something special..
Ferrari anyone?

And "what" in Blue Angels colours?

The Thunderbirds....obvious really.

Subaru's are a natural for Imperial Japanese Army colours because Subaru = Fuji Heavy Industries = Nakajima.

Blue Angels would probably be a Corvette.

Radish,

As an aside, the Agip colours used by Ferrari during the late 1970's and early 1980's would look great on a racing Macchi 205 eh?

Back to regular programming:

The Chris Bangle styled M-coupe was presented in overall matte silver which opens the door to the current M5 painted in matte RLM 74, 75, and lightened 76 in a graphic, hard edged way.

The new Evo X in light gray-green and red roundels melting over the corners here and there could also work for Mitsubishi's new rally season.

One could also do the behemoth Chevy Suburban in either Canadian or Mexican markings as well....................

etc, etc, etc.

I've dressed merchant ships in military colours, but cars? :o

But dangerous; I haven't built a passenger vehicle in over 20 years.

However, I'm feeling  :ar: . Or maybe  :dum: . This is going to require some thought, though, for the ideal combination of model and markings.

The Rat

Talked to a guy just last week who told me an interesting story; a guy at his club decided to do some mustangs, three to be exact. If I recall correctly he did a Ford Mustang car with fur like a horse, a horse with USAAF markings, and a P-51 in the colours of a NASCAR Mustang. I might have the order screwed up, maybe the P-51 had fur, but you get the idea. Pretty neat if you ask me!
