Yes please, the New Beetle will do nicely.
How much and where?

Meanwhile, the white is sprayed and the rest, the black, will be done later tonight, in a couple of hours or so.

Hey babies.....rockin'

Some may have seen my 1912 Mercer Racer done as an Israeli 1922 "jeep".
Well, I've got another...thinking Red Army, 1920

No money mate, just as long as you fun with it!  I'd put the condition of 'as long as we get to see pics' but I know that's not going to happen! ;)

I'll PM you & get your address Rad so I can post it to you.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Radish

You are a gentleman, Mossie.

Meanwhile, more VWs are pending....

off to spray the black in a bit.

And my black cat Betty is closely examinging the 'puter screen...he like watching things move, bless him

Right, sprayed the lot now.

Also thinking of a 78th FG post-war Beetle......black/white checkers and Dark Green body.....

354th FG Beetle....red/yellow checked bonnet.

The Bonnets would be a pig, but some nifty work with a pencil and small brush??
Worth a try.

LOTS and LOTS to think of.

And in 1/35th, using the CMK/Italeri kits, there's lots of figures available too. ;)

Just had a crazy idea

FLOATS

With little effort the VW was watertight anyway....one actually drove across the Channel!!

But one with FLOATS

I must calm down.
Time for some paint, I think ;)

hmm..Triumph TR.2 (1953-55 vintage but i guess a later TR.3 or 4 would do too) overall white, pink and lt blue trim, tinted screens, grey interior, dodgy wheel tracking...lol

arrgh...its catching... :ar: now wondering if my local store has any suitable kits!

I had an idea a little a while ago of doing a car in the Mad Max MFP scheme & found this Holden, which I posted about a little while ago.  I don't know much about Aussie (not many outside of Oz do!)cars but it's a different car to the ones used in the film.

I'd already been thinking of something I could use in the mainstream (the pics are of a resin kit) from a similiar era.  I thought the Tamiya Zakspeed Capri might do, or their seventies era Skyline.

Looked closely at a "Mustang" this lunchtime.
I resistyed.
I have several "on the go", and two days of The Rocky Horror Show beckons....BEWARE Cheltenham!!!

And Frank N' Furter's "wheels" are slated for the "Out-of-the-box" SIG display this year in The Wacky Races at Telford (based on a German Marder APC...with bat-wings!)

But Frank N'Furter must have driven other stuff.

Cheltenham "might" throw up a model shop, but the Hinckley Show isn't far away....thinking 1/72nd Hunters and cars, VWs, cars, and VWs

Oh, all the painting is done.
I'll fit the windows, add decals and bingo....finished!
Must remember not to forget to fit the big red parasol with black-outlined white swastka!! B)

Done some weathering with crayons on the Beetle...pleasing.
I used Faber-Castell crayons, mainly Yellow Ochre.
Good fun!!

Argh. :(  Was going to pick up a car/truck/pickup/van today, but the wife decided to accompany me, so I couldn't sneak over to the store.

Soon... :ar:

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Radish

took it along to the club, even though it still needs decals and "flatting" with varnish.
The rear windows don't fit too well, but when displayed, they won't show.
On future builds I'll re-do them with thin acetate.

On the 1/24th Revell New Beetle (thanks, Mossie!!), I'm doing the Early Warning variant is US markings....all low-viz grey and heavy weathering.

Also cut out a 1912 Panhard tonight.....thinking White Russian Civil War, or even a Chinese warlord's??

Another idea was fit a Vickers to it....I thought "Vicars" and have it as a Church of England "Congregation Patrol Vehicle".

I think you've forgotten to take the med's again Tel ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Just been checking my sources, and VW Beetles were produced/assembled in the following countries:

West Germany
Australia
Belgium
Brazil
Costa Rica
Indonesia
Ireland (Eire)
Yugoslavia
Malaysia
Mexico
New Zealand
Nigeria
Peru
Philippines
Portugal
Singapore
South Africa
Thailand
Uruguay
Venezuela

Clearly if military versions were done, there's an opportunity for some great schemes, particularly as unit "hacks" for squadrons or for special "aerobatic" teams.
"Formation Driving Teams"....???

Gotta start building a few.....

Nigerian in that scheme favoured by their Jaguars?

Aussie, of course....and South Africa ;)

And SE Asia colours on one from Singapore?
