USN/MC counterpart of P-38s, A-20s, Beauforts, Beaufighters: the DoubleCat. Inboard pair of oil coolers is not depicted, so bear with me ;)

What-if: Grumman bolts the R-2600 to the F4F. A larger fin would've been nice (from FM2?), not depicted here. A comparison vs. real F4F; the red line depicts real fuselage line.

I kinda took a different route to a "Super Wildcat". Pushed to make a Wildcat-sized high-performance fighter, Grumman made the F8F "Bearcat". Here is the "early Bearcat" version with the turtleback and three-bladed prop. I painted it like Alex Vraciu's plane at the Marianas Turkey Shoot. It really looks like a Hellcat (or a "Super-Wildcat") until you examine the details-wing-root oil coolers, 4-20mm guns, fold IN rather than fold BACK landing gear, etc.

Modelwise: I took a Wildcat turtleback and carefully grafted it on a Monogram 1/72 Bearcat, plus a Hellcat's large, 3-bladed prop.

Nice one!

"General Motors operated this very odd 'executive transport' in the early 1950s, a converted Grumman F4F 'Wildcat' fighter, with seating for two people in the lower fuselage, beneath the pilot!"

It still exists, this pic being taken at Oshkosh in 2011:

Now that is cool. The three seater is giving me a few possible ideas.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

That's cute!  Great find, too, thanks for posting!

I just wonder how the passengers entered the cabin? :o Through the cockpit?

Not sure, but in this pic, the panel with the circular window in it looks like it might be a door:

Found pics of the open door and the interior:

Shows you how "dumpy" the Wildcat was. Great find
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Ah, thanks a lot for finding/posting - very cool!  ;D

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

A bit like a Gannet AEW3, anyone who flies in there needs to be VERY friendly with the other occupant!  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
