Very lean, looks fast standing still Eddie!  For that reason, how about a swept wing & tail?  If you go with that, how about a curved Shark style fin?  Seems you've got a gap at the rear that could take a jet too, mixed powerplant maybe?  Some kind of late war/early post war jet-killer, similar to the Thunderscreech?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Sir Edward, once again you raise the bar.  Can I have a high res photo of this when you finish? I have some ideas for it in digi manipulation. Great work ! The only pisser is that I forgot about Andromeda until I read this. Hope they reshow it.

Thank you Gents! Between watching Monty Python, The Great Raid, and working a little plastic in between, here's what I've got before I go watch the Andromeda Strain. I saw it as a kid and it looks kick arse this time around . Part 1 of 2 is on tonight.
   Eddie

The spinner is the inside burner can (sectioned as well) from a Hornet and a tip of a missile

Here's a better idea of the look I'm going for. The canopy is from a 1/72 Tomcat that has been sanded to remove the old paint and dipped in Future

I do like your model and, above all, I do like your way
Will die without understanding this world.

Thank you all very much! You're compliments are greatly appreciated!
QuoteOn the Lanky stang  is that a turboprop, tprop /jet or what.
Turboprop? I don't know, i just do what they tell me,,,,,

Mossie,
Those are good ideas and you've given me a thought for a mod. The Mustang wings are about the only thing left that looks a P-51, so I'll be keeping those. The tail is going to be a surprise, especially for those who come up on her six and wish to do her harm....

Thank you! I'll be sure to do that and included the Hogzilla pix as well. I'd like to burn a disc with the photos and send something else I told I was going to send by snail mail when I'm done.  ;D The Andromeda Strain starts at 1800 tonight. Parts 1 & 2 back to back on A&E.

With that new canopy and long nose it is somewhat like the Tucano/PC-9/T-6 Texan II family with a piston engine.  I can't wait to see more of this.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Oh, it's okaaaay, I suppose...if you're into extremely cool/original aircraft designs and such...

This knocks everybody's socks off, Eddie!  Will it be a two-seater in the end?  What say the voices?

That's exactly what I saw too, right after I said it was going to be like nothing ever seen. BAM it's a Texan II  :banghead:

You'll have to use your imagination because "they" say the canopy will be painted. ;)

And the sum of all parts becomes one. Primer is on and the PSR continues.. Here's a gander of the heartburn that will rain down on any adversary closing on her six with ill intent... ;D

That's just amazing Eddie! I'm bowled over how good it looks in the primer. There's absolutely no hint of all your modifications. If you took this to a show, everyone would be horribly disappointed that there's no actual kit of this beauty! I'm sure you could tell people this was Hasegawa's latest and they'd believe you!

Love the big guns!

This project is coming along nicely. Yes, it's amazing what a little paint will do to unify all the components and putty that is used in such a project.

As for that tail gun--- do you have a humongus mirror on the canopy so our rootin-tootin cowboy pilot can shoot an over-the- shoulder shot back at his pursurer??
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Asombroso! Fantastico!!

Maybe a little radome over the turret to direct the guns?
