The Testors PT-20 in Ye Olde Stash has officially requested the whiff treatment with spats some time ago.   :D   The PZL-11 did to but got told it would have to wait until my skill is honed a bit more.

If it is a go, could it start later this year due to other GB's going on at this time?

Oh man I'm soo there it hurts!!!

I love this idea! Let's see how many folks are interested and if enough want to participate, we could run it after the 1 Week GB or later (maybe after Labor Day).

I love spats!

BdB, after Labor Day works well for me.  I'd be in and likely with more than one entry.   There are some seriously good looking spatcraft out there in kit form; adding whiffery to the mix would put some serious, high quality downtempo online.
If one could find a 1/8 inch tall Red Baron and Snoopy, they could be climbing into a wheel's fairing and be titled "Snoopy getting into a spat with the Red Baron again." Mirage PZL-11 or-23, Ki-10 Perry, Hawk P-6E, Northrup Gamma,  etc. etc. etc. Even an apple looks better with spats.

Oh yes, Daryl, I couldn't agree more! The first week in September sounds best. That would be after the 1 Week GB and coincidentally, when there's an open slot on the calendar.

Anyone else interested?

Wow I'm really suprised at the interest! I suggest we start things off September 1st and conclude November 1st. That gives everyone two months. How does that sound?

Oh and the prize will have to be a kit with spats!

OK....

My possiblities all in 1/48 and customized in some way, shape, or form.

Testors Travel Air Mystery Ship
Testors PT-20
Hasegawa 'Val'....the most likely one
Hobbycraft P-26

I'd love to build the beautiful little A5M4 from Fujimi but can't seem to get one at the moment.   Perhaps they will be available before kickoff.

As always, I never claim 'dibs' on any idea as whiffing is too entertaining to claim an exclusive. And others often have better ideas anyways.

Backstoryus  Simpleii:   Aichi requested Heinkle design a prototype dive bomber to fit new requirements.  Heinkle oblidged and tested in the Spanish Civil War.   After preliminary testing of a few airframes, Aichi carried development forward into what became the 'Val' dive bomber.   For the GB, however, the Heinkle variant would be used.   Features:  Single seat and possibly open cockpit,  more rudimentary tail, German armaments as opposed to Japanese kick things off.  Overall natural metal finish with Spanish black/white markings.
