Woah looks like we've got ten interested participants! The Spats Group Build is a GO! I'll add a topic as we get closer to the kickoff date of September 1st.

Now who wants to come up with the rules and do we have any volunteers for Group Build Moderator? As for prizes, I might have something with spats in the stash I could offer up.

I love spats!

I can moderate the GB.
I can provide perhaps a 1:48 Hasegawa Stuka as a prize, too (?).
Rules:
1. Start date is September 01, 2007.
2. Finish date is November 01, 2007.
3. It's gotta have SPATS!

Thank you Mr. Howling Mouse! You have our gratitude for volunteering to moderate the "Did I mention that I love spats? GB" and for offering up a prize. I'll set up a topic for it under the Group Build area when we get closer to September 1st. I propose we run the GB for two months, which should give all interested participants plenty of time to complete a model.

You mean we're not going to call it the "What I Really Wanted Was a T-Tail But 'Spats' Will Have To Suffice, Instead" Group Build?

:P

And this is me...SOBER!!!

Did I understand that it was to be 1930's aircraft only?

Rats, and I had that t-tailed Russian space shuttle with the spats in mind and everything.

Given the affection BdB has for spats, and the rules proposed by JHM, it would seem that anything with spats is a go..............but that's just my interpretation.

JHMs rules said it just needs spats ;)  (but 1930s aircraft look bettert with spats, in my opinion ;) )

Most definitely! I'll add it to the calendar and post the new Group Build Topic a couple of days before the September 1st start date. A big "Thank You!!" to Mr Howling Mouse for volunteering to moderate and offering up such a cool prize!

Now might be a good time for us to decide what to name it. Suggestions gratefully accepted.

Brian da Basher

P.S. I may be able to offer up another prize. I plan on taking a trip to the really good hobby shop soon to look for an upgrade for the prize for the P-40s GB and I might find something cool with spats while I'm there.

P.P.S. I really like the idea of keeping it open to aircraft of all eras, just so the finished model has spats. I think this will lead to some very interesting entries.

May it be a train with spats?
a tank with spats?
a sci fic with spats?

This is a serious question, seriously. ;)
