I am curently doing a b47 maritime patrol aircraft and would like inspration as to the paint job.
I wish to stay away from the current gray or hemp scheams used by the raf and us forces so any other you can come up with would be considrated

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Captain Canada

Might I suggest CDN ? Afterall, the RCAF and Avro used one for tests, and they were quite impressed with it's performance. You could either do one in that lovely two-grey scheme of the RCN with some bright orange panels and numbers ( I know somebody who has spares  ;) ) or in the colours of the RCAF, silver with lightning stripe or grey/ white and those lovely red outer wing and tail patches.....

Either that or some nice white over grey that the USN used.....

Or how about in the colours of the COAN in the Falklands ? Would have been a hard intercept fot the SHAR fleet !

How about Iranian three tone?
"Inconceivable!"

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Or dark blue upper surfaces and light blue undersides. I think some F4U Corsairs and TBM Avengers had similar schemes.

Rafael

Excellent whif. It looks like it wants to cross the pond several times in one flight.
Three-tone blues splintered camo?

Sweet build so far Lenny,

Might I suggest a USN overall Dark Sea Blue for a 50s theme ASW bird?

I really like how you're re-working this one Lenny! Are you planning to do away with the original B-47 canopy? That large clear nose seems to hint you're going for something like a modernized, jet powered B-29.

In any case, excellent work! I can't wait to see more!

Outstanding work.

Gloss dark sea blue would be appropriate and cool looking. You could add some nose and/or tail art as well.

Grey over white would be more modern; that's how I'm doing my PS-1, a USN patrol version of the B-35.

The JMSDF might have obtained some, and they have put some interesting paint schemes on their aircraft.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

My suggestion also B)

Although CDN in that funky white/daglo would be cool.

......with Hinomaru! ;)

I'd have to go with the USN late 50's style seaplane (dark) gray over white, like the Martin P6M Seamaster.
