Introducing the fuzzy bunny offspring of a Spitfire, Hurricane and B17 (the engine)

- the Hawkermarine Thugfire

Fuselage = Spitfire Mk1, Wings = Hurricane, Engine = B17F

After it's first flight, test pilot Sqn Ldr Gerald "Jumpy" Prang commented at the post flight debriefing:

"It was an interesting kite to handle, and thoroughly lived up to its name.
I recommend we build 10,000 - and give them to the Luftwaffe!

Please may I go and repack my parachute now? And where do I get a change of underwear?"

The Thugfire progresses.

Using my heavy handed method of 'slap on liberal amounts of Revell Plasto' over the areas that need blending, wait for it to harden overnight, sand down to as smooth as possible, coat with medium grey paint to highlight remaining irregularities, then add more Plasto and repeat from sanding down again. Usually takes 3 to 4 night to get an acceptable blend. If it's a really big fill I'd use Milliput.

burning question is, are we going to see a Hurricane with spitty wings? and if yes what donkey will be strapped up front?  B)

I did the Spitcane last year:

Just the standard Merlin upfront. Maybe in needs a beefy radial too...?

Intriguing-----Paint scheme?

Reminds me of a stretched Gee-Bee racer with that big-arsed radial up front in contrast with the rest of the bird.

mmmm....
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

As it's an early war RAF prototype, the paint scheme will probably be green/ brown upper surface camouflage with undersides in yellow with fuselage prototype 'yellow P's-in-a-circles'. At least that's my current thinking.
