Do you have any templates so I can have a go at one too?

I'm always impressed by how clean a final product you can turn out from a scratch-bash.  Something to strive for.  That camo clinches it!

Braw!  Very nice!  It's not untill you see the side-by side cockpits that you realise just how big this would have been!

Cheers guys, its it pretty large for a 1/72 model buts its sort of long and thin so its not too bulky. Yes it has side by side seating but the fuselage is alot smaller in diameter than either the Canberra or Sea Vixen so i imagine it was a very closed in space for the Nav.

Heres some more pics i put up on Photobucket :-

Now, all it needs is Thunder by AC/DC playing in the background ;)

Great to see it finished Geoff!  Looked great just in primer, looks even better with paint & decals on!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That is incredible-I can't wait to see it at a show sometime in the future.

cheers

What can one say - tremendous  :salute:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yes Trev it 96 Sqdn from one of the modeldecal Night fighter meteor sheets.

I did look for the 46 Sqdn markings to tie in with RP1's ecellent profile but didn't have the right sheet, plus the meteors didn't have the tail marking as shown on the artwork.

In choosing squadrons i try to go a bit off the beaten track by looking for units that operated the similar types the project aircraft was meant to replace but were not taken up by the eventual replacement.

(Thus when Colin asked for SIG advice on the P177's last year we suggested former Hunter units that didn't go to lightnings but either disbanded or ended up on bloodhounds. The same went for the Navy by suggesting the Scimitar units rather than going for the more obvious Sea Vixen ones  !)

The AW169 is armed with Red Deans, now in theory these should really be Red Hebe as the De havilland weapon replaced the Vickers ones, however after getting the John Forbat book on Vickers Missile projects i found drawings of the propossed Red Dean MK1 operational version. The Red Deans previously modelled have all been based upon the VT4 prototypes that can still be found in some museums and not the more refined operational one.

Cheers
