Wooksta,
You might be correct about the Tamiya 1/72 scale Fw 190D-9, it is a great kit and would be tough to beat. However it is almost double the price of the Hobbyboss kit and the Hobbyboss kit has nice decals too.

I found out that Hobbyboss is releasing kits of the Me 262, Me 163, and He 162(!), the He 162 and Me 163 should be VERY quick building kits. One thing that concerns me is where would you put the nose weight on the Me 262 and He 162 kits to prevent them from being tail sitters?

Radish

Just built one of the rather nice F4U-1D kits....I shall spray it in white primer later, so that tomorrow I can paint the PINK and LIGHT BROWN Neopolitan colours on it.
Super :salute:

After looking over their Fw 190D-9 kit more closely I noticed the inside of the landing gear doors have some sort of strange grid pattern on them, very odd since there is so much reference material available on the Focke-Wulf. There is no excuse for getting such a simple part that far off but at least its easy to fix the problem.

Roll Models Inc. is now selling the 1/72 scale Hobbyboss kits for as low as $6.75, I have ordered a few more already!

Apparantly the Mustang is one of the poorer ones.

The Corsair is ready, sprayed, and I'll add the colour tomorrow.
I've also built an F4U-4 today....still deliberating over the wast choice of opportunities.
The F4U-1D markings are nice, and will go onto a "retro" F-4S

I have always liked the idea of a corsair in RAAF folige green.

Maybe I'll ahve to get one of these hobby boss kits and give them a whirl.

The Hobby Boss kits are lovely.

I made a P-40B/C last night at the club meeting.
Took 30 minutes of chatting, clean up and assembly.

All I've done to it is drill out the nose guns and intake.....a 5 minute job.
