GTX

I like the idea of a FSW version with conformal fuel tanks and thrust vectoring nozzle.

OK, what the hell's 'DSI' mean?

The probe is probably only a temporary fit for flight tests and is angled down like that to be directly in the air flow for the flight regime they are testing, presumably at relatively slow speeds.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

DSI = Diverterless Supersonic Intake as per the F-35 and even this experimental F-16:

Ah, OK, thanks Greg.

It looks like a Feri intake from the side, like the F-105 or the F8U-3 Super Crusader, but with the added bulge at the top.

The bulge is designed to redirect the boundary layer airflow so as to form the shockwave against the intake to slow the airflow down at supersonic speeds without the use of flaps, or the simple avoidance tactic of creating an airflow diverter along the boundary layer airflow to keep it from being sucked into the intake.

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

That last shot looks like one of those 'But I thought YOU were supposed to be doing that! ' meetings that always occur when the driver presses a button and nothing happens!  ;D

Could well be a post-flight data collection situation, thus the computer - they're probably still testing the design with the DSI to optimize the shockwave creation effect at different speeds, thus the yellow paintjob - I just don't see even the PLAAF flying into combat with a Yellow aircraft.

I think that's primer, as opposed to a proper paint scheme.

So it would, Deino, so it would - she looks nice in the gray camo, rather sleek looking.
