Hi all
Star Wars
All I can see now is a white finish with red markings but I`ll try to ignore it. I HATE STARWARS!!!! ESPECIALLY LUKE WARMWATER!!!

Sky Captain Etc
Is an interesting input and obviously needs further study.(translated means a trip to blockbuster and some beers)

a Terradactyl
nope can`t see it. not even if I squint and turn my head a little bit.....wait......nope its gone.

Its 5.53 Friday am here in UK and I`ve spent the last 6 hours filing, filling and sanding. What I`m coming to see is a Luftwhiffy Acrobatic team member. Now does any one know of an official scheme or colour. I have some idea that it was like the Bucker below but don`t know why.

Now I may go with this unless you can convince me otherwise. :D

Hi All
Last lot of pix before I start the final sand polish etc and give it a coat of paint.

As you can see lots of SOSO alrerady done and we have spatz and I can now truthfully say "Spats increase the workload factor by 1000%"
I`ve got a couple of rattlers in silver so that maybe the base coat but we`ll see.
As usual all comments etc

Question:  Why double spats for the nose gear?

Question: Why double spats for the nose gear?
Answer:   Why(ff) not :D

The real answer is

I only had two sets of spatted underbits and I`m not likely to build again in this scale.

This bird comes in hot.

I didn`t have a spated nosewheel

I thought it might make Brian dB happy.

If spats increase the coolness factor etc etc then the more you got the cooler it must be.

The really real reason. This is a tail sitter par excellence. Theres so much weight in the nose that it takes two to support it. If you look at the pictures even the P47 nose as a temporary prop can`t force it down and since taking these pic`s I`ve cut it open and added more

Ahhh yes I am very happy! It looks great with the spatted gear, HOG! It's a very unique arrangement that's sure to turn heads!

Spats may increase the workload, but I find the results well worth it as your work shows. This bird has a very interesting fantasy vibe to it that I enjoy.

Looking forward to more!

QuoteHi All
First a few replies:-

"has an air of advanced/retro that is really inspiring"
"This concept is sooo incredibly awesome "
It`s just bits of plastic Rafa & Brian
I was going to call it positively inspired but point taken.

I suppose it's just "okay" then.

Absolutely gorgeous

If this is to be a Luftwaffe bird, for some reason I think it would be the perfect Zerstörer escort for the FW 42 (see below):

Hi All

Making progress

Its now 1:48 as this lets me use a model to whom I had promised a position in my next production. Actually the female ferry pilot from the Preiser USAAF set
I`ve decided it`s a racer built just before the start of WIx2, obviously from the colouring German and in decalling will prob`ly have a swazzlesticka in a white disc on the tail. And as for the firmly decided jets becoming positively rockets, it`s now a definite maybe on pusher props!.
The stripes were originally going to go across the chord, aboring idea but the best I could come up with, until I saw Eddie M`s  P40 and the diagonals help this square outline out alot. Once again thanks for the unintentional input Eddie
At 11.30pm last night, I found I was outta red and the only stuff I had was the cheap hobby acrylic you can see in the background. as I had no wish to put this thro` my airstick I brushed it on and the resulting bleeds under the tape will need touching up. Also the `white` used here isn`t. Some time ago I built a 109E in Swiss camo and found the white contrasted a bit harshly with the red (plus it was Tamiya white which is very ....white ) in scale. As an experiment this `white`  is Humbrol no,28 which they call "camouflage grey" and I think gives a smoother contrast. (Plus this gives me a chance to show off another of my models as an example.)

All comments etc etc

Very nice HOG. I like the paint scheme on the diagonal like that. Pusher props seem like a good way to go as well.

Oh and I like the added realism of the sheep in your Swiss 109 diorama too.

I enjoy the look of this one very much. It's very interesting to see how you put all the odds and ends together. Glad to be of indirect help with the paint. For a second there, it gave a USAF Thunderbirds flashforward to the future. Great idea for the double spat nose gear. B)

Here I have some good news and some bad news.
First the good news- My Dawg ate my plane!
The bad news      - I can start somthing else!
Once the original `rush` had gone from this model I was getting very bogged down with it and ideas seemed to dry up. It could possibly be ressurected but I have decided not to. No doubt I shall find the odd remains in the garden in future years, like today I found some Lego, a Transformer head and a bit of something Gerry Anderson, think it was a Terrahawks somthing, remains from my sons adventures. (He`s now 34 and some of these bits must have been there for least 6-7 months).
Now I really am going to concentrate on older wips.
