Had to take one of those from Toronto to Petawawa one day for disposal, it was in pretty rough shape and not worth fixing anymore. One of the hood latches was kaput, and as we were charging down a hill on Highway 60 as fast as the old gal could go the other latch broke. Ever wonder what it's like to have no forward vision when you're halfway down a winding hill? My co-driver and I lashed it down with some straps and went the rest of the way at a much more cautious pace.  :P

Thanks for the replies, guys. It was a beauty day, lots od sun. We had a nice little 'camp' set up, tho, so the kiddies were happy and content all day long.

Nev, I'd love to grab a 35th scale LAV and do her up proper. One day, I'd like to do a whole slew of CDN armour in that fashion. Sherman, Centurion, Leo.....

Rat, good story ! The good ol' days, eh ? My old man had a good story about driving one loaded with an engine for a stranded Albatross thru the hills of Vancouver Island...he said the high CoG scared the poo-poo (with an english accent) out of him, and he thought they were gonna roll down into the ocean !
