While being designated a mod for this gig wasnt on my scope, I'm not going to let it keep me from participating. My initial thoughts are these:

1. XR-7 "Aurora": OOB Testors Thunderdart kit with a few add-ins and what not.

2. EB-52G "Have Spook": Revell 1/144 B-52G with some add-ons for a quick-fix area/stand-off ECM bird circa 1997ish or so

3. FT-29A Scimitar ("Fable"): Hasegawa X-29 with a radome off a F-20, maybe some other major mods for a 57th FW Aggressor.

Heh, you do that FT-29A, and we'll have to get our two Aggressor X-29's together for a group shot.

I've got a couple ideas goin on as well.

-Northrop-Grumman F-19(monogram's F-19 stealth model), used as a flying testbed for project "JADED"(Joint aerial directed-energy defense), with retractable laser in weapons bay. Colors will be plain ol USAF grays with metallic leading edges(like on F-22) and NASA/DARPA/USAF stripes off an X-29 kit.

-Lockmart FB-119(italeri/testors F-19 kit), SEA greens and tan above, black on bottom.  :ar:

I might be a mere Moderator but I'm still entering a couple if time allows.

YF-122 - Chengdu J-10 (aka Trumpeters' Chinese New Fighter) as in 'evaluation' markings while in the mysterious Nevada desert....

Hawk 100 - USAF training aircraft. Nice and simple!

I've got a couple of oddball projects I'm contemplating for this one. I may yet find a use for that left-over 1/144 scale F-15 fuselage. I've also got my original idea from the Falklands GB of scale-o-rama'ing that 1/72 F-84 vac down to a 1/144  bomber or early AWACS. This one's gonna be fun!

Panavia Tornado, real-world project for USAFE operations.  Tornado ADV fuselage with IDS radome & US weapons, be interesting to see how it looks with Overkillers Wild Weasel.

These are ideas that are up for grabs, I've had plenty in my head but I'll only build the Tornado which has been forming in my head for a long time.  Anyone else is free to take these for inspiration:

F-85B, Production variant of XF-85 Goblin.  XF-85 body added to twin boom & wing from, say, a Vampire, Venom, or Flitzer.
VC-200A 'Air Force One', Revell's Boeing SST with insignia robbed from one of Minicrafts various Air Force One kits.
F-24A, Viggen in Aggressor markings.
V-5C, USAF 'Kaman' Rotodyne

Simon.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I'm tweaking my F-86 F by replacing the 6 50cal ports with 4 20mm ports similar to the H as well as arming it with 4 AIM-4D Falcon Missles and creating a Whif "NEA" cammo for an extended Korean war scenario. the NEA cammo will probably be 2 shades of brown 1 of green over a light Grey

i got some plans to:

-SU-22 (US-22) agressor (after the cold war, the russians traded some fighter for F-16's to be used as agressors)

-T-45D Super Goshawk (USAF trainer version of the Bae hawk 100, to replace the T-37)

-F-24 Tornado (USAF tornado, after the F-111 got cancelled)
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

First up for me will be nothing fancy.  The ANG boys from Pittsburgh used to fly the A-7 before converting to the Stratobladder.  I'm thinking they kept their battlefield support role and got the Viper.  Time to try out the ALPS!

If I got time then maybe a 318th FIS Arrow.......

I like your Air Force One idea Simon B)

If you want to take it on Nev, please do, by all means!  I haven't got the kits required in the stash (saves me from the rabid wife with rusty knife situation) anyway & I'll be amazed if I get the Tonka finished on time!

The Minicraft B707/VC-137 should give you the decals if no one can spare you some.  The scales are different, but with the SST being such a large beast they should just about do.

Maybe a RDF/AntiTerror Skyraider to operate along with my RDF-LT http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index...topic=13508&hl= but I would be amazed if I get it

But, just in case, I can build an easier secret project
