Something iv been musing for a while (and noted through postings others have too!)

... id like to suggest a 'Finnoscandia/Nordic Group Build' open to all members of the 'what-if' forum and allowing either artwork profile as well as our regular model entries ? (possibly 2 diff categories ?)

... no real rules or restrictions as long as its within the Fennoscandia/Nordic region of countries and fitting in with the 'what-if' theme of the build

... im thinking entries should be in by the onset of winter, giving us those long summer nights to do some modelling ?

... ill happily put up prizes for this one, the entries being judged from our own membership

.. im sure like me a number of us will have already suitable stuff in the pile, so hopefully this might give the excuse to get around to finishing some half started projects ?

ant thoughts ... ???

cheers, Joe

some possible inspiration to help things along... http://groups.msn.com/TSR-2ResearchGroup/i...toragefile.msnw

PS. iv used the term 'Finnoscandia/Nordic' in denoting a wider area than just noting 'Scandanavia' which would technically exclude Finland and Iceland ? the former word being a sortv bastardisation of 'Fenoscandia', a geological term for the area ... im open to other suggestions tho... ???

I really like this idea as I've got Swedish and Norwegian markings in the decal stash. Finnish markings are easy to cobble together from RAF roundels minus the red center or RAAF/RNZAF SEA markings.

Sounds like a good idea!  I'm in!

Shouldn't that be the Viking group build  ;)

Nice idea however  :D

Now someone should attempt the Saab A36:

But not me I'm afraid, I've signed up to too many GB's already!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

8 to 10 participants is ususally considered the number needed to get a group build off the ground. I think this one shows lots of promise with all those interesting markings and paint schemes. The timeframe suggested works well too as it could be slotted just after the I Love Spats! GB.

Count me in as I need another GB to keep me out of trouble

Good idea - I have a few half finished Russian kits which might look better in Finnish markings.

I might be in - work and my new workshop permitting - I have a few ideas in mind.

When exactly are we proposing this given that it is Winter now for me?!
