NATO exercise Bold Avenger is going on over Denmark these days, which means lots of jets!

Today i saw Mirage 2000s, Strike Eagles and F-16s. Best of all was a Strike Eagle and an F-16 with CFTs that began doing some sharp maneuvering over my house.

Participants include USAF F-15Es and KC-135s, French Mirage 2000s, E-3s and Transalls, F-16s from Denmark, Belgium, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey and Portugal, as well as NATO E-3s and a Czech An-26 <_<

Since I posted those pics, a Tonka passed low & fast.  Too low & too fast to get a pic.  I was waiting for his mate (they normally come in pairs), but he didn't turn up.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Hawkeye

This was a surprise this evening!

Aluminum Overcast was shooting some touch and goes at Appleton (KATW) Wisconsin.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

About 7:30pm EDT, saw (and heard) a C-130J headed due north over the house.  About 9pm heard (and saw the lights of) one of the USCG HH-65C's out of Selfridge.

Was staying and walking around Buttermere in the Lake District last week. Heard a fair amount of screaming jets but only saw these, photographed none.....

Looking down from High Raise I spied a black prop job, most likely a Tucano flying low over the water one afternoon.
Leaving the youth hostel one morning I saw a Harrier on the far side of the valley.
The farmer at Lanthwaite Farm is well off, he flew home in an EC155 (Dauphin variant) one evening as I returned to my car! http://www.lanthwaite.com/index.html

Best was when walking up Gavel Fell. Just as I came down from Blake Fell and lost sight of Crummock Water I heard a jet screaming by. Cursing my luck I turned round trying to spot it and an F-15 Eagle popped over the ridge almost overhead! Didn't have time for a snapshot but was good to see anyway!

Again, a bit too low & quick to get a pic, but saw an RAF Beech King Air come pretty close.  Never seen one around here before.

Whilst stood out in my neighbours back garde chatting today, an autogyro went over the garden, and to be honest I don't think I have seen one over here before or anywhere apart from on the telly. Smart looking piece of kit it was too.

I guess that might explain why the annual NATO Day in Ostrava this weekend was a lot more quiet and disapointing than last year; everyone had somewhere better to be.

Thanks - about a minute later I was overflown by a patrolling Blackhawk - I could've gotten a great shot, but I try not to aim long cameras at security folk - they're no doubt on edge enough already LOL

Another Sea Dragon.  I could've gotten a better photo if I'd been closer to the river, but I was headed into the library when I heard the rotors.  I got this standing in the alley nearby.
