Not exactly a common sight but a 747SP, and this one is even less common as it belongs to the Qatar Amiri Flight.
It has been bashing the circuit here at Prestwick all morning.

Great shot Jim.  I spotted a Royal Saudi 737 when I was leaving Bermuda last year.  I would have taken a pic, but they were really antsy when landing about the missus trying to take a photo just of the terminal.  Thought I could get one through the fence, but it wasn't worth a few extra enforced days stay!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Spotted another Knighthawk while I was out the other day.  He flew right over the seawall, and I just managed to get this before he disappeared behind a building.

After taking the boy out for a walk in the snowy Lincolnshire countryside, took the scenic route home via Humberside Airport - and what did I see approaching as I drove past?  Quickly pulled over, grabbed the camera and snagged a couple of shots before he was gone, just the one pass

B777LR

A rare one today, among all the airliners. A camouflaged (greenish and sandy colour) C-130 (a shorty), with a white tail.

Saw something odd whilst on my way to the Steampunk exhibition in Oxford yesterday. Just noth of Oxford, two aircraft which I tentatively indentified as RAF VC.10s were flying round and round in circles in VERY close formation. They didn't seem to have gear down. I was on the bike, so unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures or spare them too much attention, nor did I find a place to stop from where I could see them.

Haven't seen anything so far, but tomorrow's going to be a banner day. The 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, is conducting a NORAD exercise over Youngstown. Going to be lots of F-16s "escorting" general aviation aircraft. Hopefully they're flying when I'm walking on campus. This is also a notice to anybody who lives in a 100-mile radius of Youngstown. If you want to do some plane-watching, come here TOMORROW! http://www.vindy.com/news/2010/feb/03/norad-exercise-planned-thursday/
