Buzzed by a Tucano earlier this afternoon, pretty low over the house.  Heard plenty more but couldn't quite see, the blight of being overlooked by a dozen other houses.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Had a couple of Sea Kings thudding around the Yeovil area today, which is pretty normal. However, I also saw a jet trainer type (a Hawk or an Alpha Jet) going very quickly along the road between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet, and another sighting which made me jump a little, as my first thought was "VC-10!". However, I think that's extremely unlikely as there're only a handful left, and it didn't look quite big enough, so I think it was probably a Fokker F100 or a CRJ, something like that. It was pulling fast turns at low level over the Yeovilton area though, so I don't know what it would have been up to...

Let the dogs out after dinner and heard a low rumble in the distance.  The rumble quickly became a very loud whine of a twin engined fighter screaming by low overhead.  Missed what it was thanks to the mini forest that is the back yard.  Pretty sure it was a Super Bug but it could of been an Eagle too.

Also, not a plane but about a month back I had to take the dogs out around 1 or 2 AM and I heard a train in the near distance.  Not that uncommon as we have a set of heavily used tracks a few miles from the house.  Mostly CSX and Norfolk-Southern bringing coal through.  The odd thing was I heard the whistle blow once or twice; nice long blasts.  Then all of a sudden a sustained air raid siren went off for almost 2 minutes followed by the train whistle again.  I have NO idea what the ##$%$^ that was about and it scared the crap outta me.  Could that have been some kind of nuclear waste or ordnance train passing through town?  Anyone have any idea?

Of course I didn't have my camera available, but a "new" type of blimp I have not before seen appeared in the skies. Most blimps have engine pods and propellers under or by the the gondola. Not this one. I couldn't make it out completely, but I think it had an engine/propeller in its very tail. It was advertizing some product or service, but was NOT tethered. Traffic noise prevented me from hearing any engine sound, and I never got close enough to it to really tell. Actually, I am not sure it was NOT a rigid airship--I just assumed it was a blimp--but a rigid airship might well have structure capable of handling a rear engine internally. Dunno.

Anybody out there seen one of these in the States?
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Craig, it sounds like a Zeppelin NT. There's a company in California that offers flights in their Zeppelin NT in SF, Monterrey, LA and San Diego.

For Memorial Day, four (later, five) T-6s in different liveries flew over the Veteran's Cemetery - which is a few blocks up the street - then flew south right over my house. Here are four of them:

Also, there was a blimp:

You can just make out the mooring lines.
Sorry about the grainy pictures - I set the camera to ISO 1600 a few weeks ago and forgot to bring it back to a more reasonable value.

Not over my house but interesting to see anyway, On my way down the M55 motorway in the opposite carriageway was a 4x4 towing a trailer which had a spitfire on it. The wings were off and strapped either side of the fuselage.I only knew it was a spitfire as I recognised the wing shape and the fuselage shape. Pretty unusual sighting wouldn't you say?

This Robinson was a surprise as it passed overhead...never seen it around here before.

A transcontinental flight arriving from somewhere as it descends enroute into Chicago O'Hare. It probably just came over the north polar route.

This is the first time I've ever seen a Sun Country aircraft in our neck of the woods. Its departing Appleton, having arrived from Minneapolis earlier...now heading to Washington DC. Best guess is it is a charter flight hauling WWII veterans to visit the WWII Memorial.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Must be a busy day for the E-2s at Norfolk.  No less than 5 have gone over in the past few hours.  Usually only see one every few days.

Saw an Apache Longbow last Wednesday flying up the river Lea and today saw two UH-60s flying in the direction of Northolt(?). I know north London is a bit rough but damn!  ;D

I've seen that Spitfire before, only going up the M4. It's a fibreglass replica they put together at airshows to raise money for a flying version or charity.

Not a real aircraft, but I "walked" into a photo of a model of my Dad's B-25 on line a few minutes ago.

Here's the link . . .
