There were two....possibly three CH46's circling Battersea Park for about 10 mins....looking on interweb for glossy green with two yellow/gold stripes along side....they appear to be connected to the presidential flight....pics taken with an iPhone......

So it was the President's flight!!! ;D

They came right over my house 90 minutes ago. We thought we heard a Chinook and then 3 went over in a line. I said "those aren't Chinooks, they're CH-46 Sea Knights". Three minutes later another one came over accompanied by a pair of VH-3 Sea Kings in that glossy dark green and white scheme.
What was escorting them? A Met Police EC145!

I wonder where they flew in from? Obvious answer would be Lakenheath or Mildenhall.

Best pics and story here!!

Yesterday (Saturday) morning we were out on our patio (first time it was warm enough and not raining) enjoying the start of the day watching the birds visiting our feeders, sipping our coffee when FedEx arrived. Nothing unusual about that, it usually arrives early Saturday to bring in the days deliveries. What was unusual was it sudden aborted its approach, pulled and climbed rapidly. Typically we can watch it as it arrives, disappears behind the treeline just before landing...seeing it pull up wasn't normal.

The pilots claimed wind shear, something the tower was surprised to hear given the conditions. The Airbus circled around the pattern this time coming in lower than normal, I caught this shot as it turned on final between the trees across the field from my place. There was still a great deal of low hanging haze above the trees.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Was out working in the yard today and got to listen to the usual low rumbling of Super Bugs in the distance and was treated to a low fly over of a HH-53E not once but twice!  Man those things are loud but they sound so nice

DC-10 passed over yesterday...I presume it was descending into Chicago being it was so low.

Weird -- at first I thought it was an MD-11, 'cause you can see the winglets, but the fuselage isn't long enough. Wonder when they started putting winglets on older DC-10s?

I also took this the other morning, I was up early enough to watch the sunrise and it illuminated FedEx's Airbus 319 as it arrived.

Spotter tip: I think you'll find that it's an A300-600F or A310F, but it looks too long to be an A310 (A310s are kinda stubby-looking what with having 20 feet taken out of the fuselage; take a look at a CC-150 Polaris. They started out as A310s). There have been very few freighter conversions of the A32X series (A318, A319, A320, A321), and most of those are based on A321s.

Not over my house, but I did take a trip out to the local airport last week to see what was out there:

This Zlin 142 and Bucher Jungmann were reasonably close to the fence:

Another Zlin 142 got up to do a bit of circuit work:

What I think was a Saab 340 made an appearance a bit later in the day:

A view down the taxiway from one of the crash gates showing some of the HAS units from the airport's military past and the seemingly ever present TNT BAe 146:

All I can go by is what Flightaware has it listed as based on the IFR Flight Plan filed by FedEx. They listed it as a A306 this morning.

The DC-10 pic by Hawkeye is in fact a MD-11F - tell because of the winglets and Lufty Cargo don't operate DC-10F's!

A Couple of Merlins flew over my Humble abode in Hartlepool just wondering if there's an exercise in the area?
