Nice pics Todd, I've been thinking about getting this kit of the Challenger:  http://www.classic-plane-mrr.de/index_e.html

I've got a 1/72 Execuform vacuform but it's not that great and putting the CanMilAir decals I've got for it, would be sacrilege
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Captain Canada

Nice.....no idea what the kit is like. To bad LE won't release theirs again, eh ?

A DC-6 in British Eagle markings, seen by myself & most of the SIG members at the Midland Air Museum.  Took off from the adjacent Coventry Airport, twice!  Beautiful sound of four big piston engines, first thought before I saw was it might have been a bomber.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Last Sunday I was on my way into work for a few minutes before meeting Donna as she flew home from a day at her mom's I heard a noise that you dont normally hear around Charlotte International Airport.  As I drove past the departure end of Rwy 18L an F-16 flew overhead, followed quickly by two more.  I assume they were on their way to the local speedway for the Nascar race.  There is another race today, so I'm sure they will bearound again, but I dont feel like driving 45 minutes to see them!

Then on Friday going in to work this was sitting on the cargo ramp:

I've never seen Cathay in CLT before.  There were signs up for a Samaritan's Purse media briefing, so I assume it was there to pick up relief supplies for the earthquake victims.  (Samaritan's Purse is one of the few evangelical organizations I truly admire.  It is run by the son of Billy Graham and they collect for disaster relief as well as an annual Christmas 'shoebox' program for needy kids around the world, which they usually fly out of CLT in an Antonov.)

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Captain Canada

Nice shot, Nick ! Natural metal birds are so nostalgic....and just plain cool !

While we are too far south to see what is flying in and out of Hill AFB, my house is on one of the flightpaths for SLC International Airport as well as Airport 2 which is the home of the local Army Guard helicopter unit.
So, besides large numbers of 737, 757, 767, MD-88's, etc, I also see KC-135's (USAF Guard at SLC), Apache and Blackhawk choppers and the occasional C-130.  Yesterday, a C-17 flew over (no camera with me) and I got to see its belly with the gear open.

OK, it wasn't "today", but recently. South of Tongariro National Park (maybe Mangaweka) in New Zealand, there is a small town with this DC-3 painted to look like chocolate-chip cookies! It's part of a cookie factory.

From a long way away I thought it was camo-ed in Italian desert markings!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

A Chinook buzzing up and down Weymouth beach. Went back and forth once in the morning, and again in the afternoon. Noisy bugger, but great to watch.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<
