But Jetair doesnt operate the 737-600? Must have been a -500 or -700?
could have been a -500, i dont know the different versions of civil airliners that well

The 737-500 has a shorter fuselage, shorter wingspan, smaller engines, and slight shorter tail than the 737-700. The latter seats 17 more passengers. If you got into the cockpit, the -500 should have more gauges, while the -700 has only screens. Also, if you look at the engine pylon, the pylon of a -500 extends aft of the rear edge of the wing, while the -700 pylon ends before the end of the wing.
And finally, i have no life...

CHC Super Puma, probably on it's way to Humberside Airport after picking up from one of the Gas Rigs off the coast.  Heard it again later going in the opposite direction, but didn't see it due to low cloud, it's a mucky old day.  Which probably means it'll have to come back again, so I'll keep an eye & ear out!

Never seen a civvie Puma round these part Mossie.  S-76s and Dauphins - all day long.  But no pumas.

Todd - you want pics?  Went to Conningsby on Thursday, got a ton of pics as soon as I sort em out.  Typhoons, Tornados, Hawks, even an Islander!

Could have been an S-76 Nev, the cloud made it a little difficult to make out.  Seemed larger though.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

You should try to get over to Abbotsford sometime

My Bro was there a few years back, and took a bunch of pics. I've also got some froma few other sources. It's pretty wild, but at the same time, such a shame....I love those little Trackers ! Makes you wonder what a force that would be, if they were all up and running.....

On Wednesday I went out to a new client in an area of town I don't usually go to.

I got off the bus and walked for a bit and went past a parking lot. Inside the parking lot were a couple of rather tatty looking aircraft. An L-29 Delfin and a MiG-21 F-13 (yep, an early one!).

The parking area was gated as it belonged to a private company, but it looked like some vandals had gotten to the aircraft despite this. The MiG had been hit with grafitti and the L-29 had a tarpaulin over its canopy and it was pretty clear that part of the canopy had been smashed judging by the contours of the tarpaulin.

The MiG looked like it had been there a while as the tops of the wings were quite green and mossy.

I'll try to get some pics through the fence when I go out again this Wednesday.

That'd be cool......old ratty looking aeroplanes are always a delight to see !

And Nevster...bring on the photos already !

Here's one that flew over yesterday. By the time I ran in the house, found the camera, found the bag with the zoom lens and attached it....it was this far away ! I'm guessing it's one of those stinking Swedes, uh, I mean Saabs. Never seen one around these parts before.

Or perhaps an Il-114? I thought most SAAB 2000s were headed to Linköping to be converted in AWACS aircraft...

Mine for the day: C-47

Seen over Arsenal, heading approx. SE, 12.10.  There used to be a civilian machine that operated from city (IIRC), but I thought that was no longer operational - or something to do with the recent D-Day anniversary, perhaps?

Nev, I read somewhere that RAF or Army Islanders were used in Northern Ireland in the observation roll.  I seem to remember a photo of one in overall green.

As I said in my previous post last Wednesday, I'd try to get get pictures of the MiG-21 and L-29.

You may want to look away now if you're the least bit squeamish about seeing aircraft suffering:

I couldn't find anyone to ask who they belonged to ore why they were there.

This one was grey.  According to the RAF Website it belongs to the RAF Northolt station flight and is used for photographic mapping and light transport.

And today I saw something *very* rare round these parts - a Tristar!  Was flying low, slow and on a heading in the general direction of Waddington.  Occasionally I'll see a Sentry or a Nimrod recovering to Waddington at that heading, speed and altitude, but a Tristar?
