this is kinda rare. saw a couple of B-2s just now. heading west (towards whiteman most likely). was looking up at a plane that was trailing contrails, looked kinda weird and i ran in and grabbed my binocs, and lo and behold!!! not so sure they'd be happy that they were making contrails though (even though they were disappating rather quickly)

Down in Bexhill, on the south coast, for the weekend, saw a KC-135 (chug chug chug...quick, more coal!), and a black-painted Hawk (I presume RN) showboating "over" the promenade. The Hawk seemed to have a white logo of some sort painted on the underside - that I could see in the few seconds the underside was actually, well, underneath.

Had a Mil Hip helicopter pass over town this morning (I can't tell an Mi-8 from an Mi-17 on the ground let alone flying).

It was either civil or the Czech air force's VIP Hip as it was quite high vis in finish. Usually when a Hip goes over its a low vis camoflaged one.

These are from the last couple of weeks.

KC-135R WI ANG shooting touch and goes at the neighboring airport. Hard to get anything done when this flies past your window.

Someone who knows how to have fun.

Backyard party peeper.

Goodyear Blimp over the homestead.

Power company surveying the power lines.

Local Air Medevac flying by.

Delta Connection approaching for landing on runway 29. This one just happens to be carrying a cousin in for a family reunion.

That first one, may be deceptive if she's heading into the circuit, but sure looks like a fast break!

Just turning onto the downwind for left closed traffic to runway 21. The next picture taken in that circuit (wheels up)

Nice shots Hawkeye!

I got out of work early today and as I was driving past the end of the runway I saw that an A330 was about to leave (Frankfurt I think), so I stopped into the observation area and took a few pics.

Runway 18R at Charlotte, NC (CLT)...

A pair of Canadian contaptions...

The Big Bus heading to Europe...

The Wee Beastie I teach on, the Boeing 737-400

Some Government hardware; NCANG C-130, an unusual sight on 18R, their hangar is on the east side of the airport so they usuall use 18L

CLT skyline and another Dash in the background

New Kid On The Block...Embraer E-190.  I'll probably be teaching on this in a few years when the 737s are gone from the fleet, unless some senior guys retire, then I may have a shot at the A330.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Nice work, guys ! Nothing better than pictoral updates.

Love that shot of the CRJ turning in....such a sweet lloking bird. And of course, the mighty KC-135 is always a welcome sight !

Nice to see those canucks hard at work down ther as well. And it's neat to see how small a -330 makes a 737 look !

I had a nice chat with a couple of pilots whilst awaiting the fog in St. John's. They were telling me about the rules for landing in fog like that, and why the 'liners were diverting to Deer Lake and Gander. They also told me that the Embrears were POS....everybody from ground crew on up don't like them. I had heard that before from a abaggage hamdler a few years back, but this time it was a pilot talking.

How on earth does he make the front wheel climb in altitude?

In principle, you can tell by which side the tail rotor's on (and no, I can't remember which is which either ). However, IIRC, some Mi-8s were refurbished and got Mi-17 tailbooms and rotors in the process, so even that's not 100%

I beleive some Mi-17s have a hard nose. (no glazing in the nose). Some Mi-17 come with a downwards folding ramp, while the Mi-8 has clamshells.

Ive been sailing all weekend.

Spotted a CL-604 today, doing some maritime patrol. Also spotted an An-124 :o , presumeably on the way to pick up some tanks.

I've had a Sea King of the RAF yellow variety following me around recentley, firstly at Bridlington that I've mentioned before.  Friday, one flew right over the spot where I was working, it seemed to be heading on it's way to the local hospital.  It came back again a short while later.  Then it was back yesterday, almost literally flying over my house.

Yesterday seemed to be a good day for GA types, saw several in the skies.  With this summer being a bit of a damp squib, I guess everyone jumped into the sky when there was a rare bit of decent weather over the weekend.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
