Iraq, Afghanistan and the scrapheap ;)

Now, over my house yesterday there was a Nimrod in the circuit, and a quartet of Tornadoes (56 Sqn, I think) displaced from Leuchars whilst the runway work is ongoing. And when I say over my house, I mean OVER my house. At sub-1,000 foot altitude, too, if my Mark One Eyeball can be trusted.

There's been a Bristows S-61R flying around lately for some reason, too, and a lighter helicopter of some sort. I think it might be a BO-105, although I'm not sure. It buzzed me on the back road last week with crop spraying doohickeys, and what those were for, I have no idea.

Oddly, the Vigilants haven't been up these last days, because the conditions have been glorious (zero cloud, light winds). Probably the ATC are all off on their holidays. I think the flying club's Cessna 172 was poking about this afternoon, but given that it was descending rather steeply and I was several miles away, it might just have been a seagull.

I wish that the Americans would send one of their Super Jollies to play. They're fun when they decide to hug the trees just behind the house :D

Been pretty quiet over Brno the past week or so however a few days back I saw a Tupolev 154 heading into nearby Turany airport. Those Tupolev airliners are getting to be a real rarity these days.

Loud, smoky and completely non compliant with any EU regulations. Anyone who can replace them is replacing them.

Not at home in Texas, but have been vacationing on the Maryland Atlantic coast this week- yesterday was at the beach with the kids at Assateague Island and saw three P-3 Orions fly overhead about 2000' AGL in about a 2 mile trail formation.

Well, I could post here everyday but, it might get boring. Ehhhh, it might change a little.
Let's see, today.....A-10s, C-130s, F-18s, Blackhawk, Hueys and a Kiowa. Plus numerous private craft. Cessnas, Pipers, Beechs an a Lear.
Have a good one.

Day off work, nice sunny day so I went and sat off the end of the runway for a wee while. I'd forgotten how loud the Spey is when four of 'em are about 50 feet away. Thank goodness that they were on Runway 10, not 26, and no Tornadoes took off. You definitely know about that one...

Visiting aircraft today were an Aurora (the Canadian one, very nice livery) and four or five Grob Tutors from one of the Air Experience Flights. Number four, I think, but can't be sure.

Last week i saw a formation of 5 UH-1Ds and 1 Bolkow. Bundesheer i suppose

We had clouds AGAIN today :(

When we moved here 18 years ago, we regularly had A-10s, F-111s, Tornadoes, Jaguars, Harriers and C-130s.
Now.....nothing. :(

I was out driving during this afternoon's early rush, and one of the radio stations had an A-Star out flying traffic duty.

Hi all,
Radish, keep yer eyes towards Barton, official low fly zone, 250 feet.
Used to work on Efflinch lane, back in the '80s so i know what you mean.

Or, do what i did, move north young man, come up to sunny Yorkshire and get,
regularly, in no particular order,
Robinson egg beaters, BO 105s, the odd Hughs NOTAR, Police force Islander, Sea Kings(grey and luverly yellow) Tucanos, Hawks, Tonkas, (mud and ADV) Tiffies, and not forgetting my own personal air display F15s, normally 2, but end of last week got 4, was hoping the last would have been a little lower, then i could have gone down to 'da heath and asked for it back
Oh and before anyone gets the wrong idea, my particular tree is 750' ASL.
So glad that the low fly limit is 250' AGL!
Mind you, so far this week, even the gulls are walking

Not exactly over my house, but I did have a Shorts SD330 Skyvan fly over me whilst I was on the M40 coming back home from a VERY unwanted couple of days in nottingham. It's a pity that I had my radiator eplaced.
