Heheh. ;D

Passed two Viking APCs in desert camo going through Preston, and then a landing craft on a low loader just off Warmwell roundabout. Bloody thing nearly ran me off the road!

Hawkeye

N911TS flew over just a few minutes ago enroute to KATW for fuel. Love the sounds she makes.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

HMS St. Albans, a Type 23 frigate, is in Portland Harbour today, and open to the public. So I went along and got a few pics:

RFA Mounts Bay, one of the new LPDs, was across the harbour as well:

That reminds me, I saw several Saxon APC's just trundling through Hull a few weeks ago, no idea why.
New Police Armed Response Vehicles ? - Sorry Simon, couldn't help m'self

Took a call this morning from a Merlin navigator at RAF Benson. They were planning a nav training ex out to the Oil Rig in Liverpool Bay and needed a some contact details. Long-story-short, I took the opportunity to ask him to come past and buzz the station.

They did !!

Two VERY smart passes at 50ft and a couple of handbrake turns with a superb sunset as a backdrop and the rich smell of burnt kerosene lingering in the air..... couldn't have asked for more. No, folks, no piccies waaayyyy to dark, all you would have seen is a blurry silhouette and some lights. You're going to have to take my word for it !

Nice way to brighten-up a very mundane Monday.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Almost missed this one, can't go without comment!  Hey, just because they need Saxons in Scouseland doesn't mean Hull Police have them, thank you very much!!!

No, they have Chieftains here.... :dalek:

Our Air force are a truly great bunch...... No I MEAN it. After the Merlin disappeared into the aforementioned dramatic sunset, I eMailed RAF Benson with a quick thank you, to be passed on to the crew. Got two replies: One from the Station PR lady, saying thanks for saying thanks and that she would pass-it-on to the 78 Sqn boss, the second message was from the Sq. Ldr himself, thanking US for all our help, and to be assured he'd have his guys come past the station each time they were transiting the area.

Captain Canada

I was heading home from work when I saw a white shape heading in to land......a little closer to home and I noticed it was the Nav Canada Dash-8 ! I quickly grabbed my camera and ran out the door. I only got a few shots of her, as she did her last pass. What a shame, as the backdrop on the other side of the airport was dark snow clouds, with sunlight from the other side. Would have made a perfect shot.

Anyway....what a job these guys have ! Buzzing every airport in the country ? He did a few really hard pulls that would have made great shots as well.
