Not quite over my house, but out of a train window I had a minutes worth look at the Castle AFB Museum collection-

I'd seen the B-36 when it was at Chanute AFB in Illinois 20 years ago.  It was dismantled and loaded on to railcars when that base closed.  Castle has an interesting collection, and one of the few Vulcans in North America.  I wish the Victor that crashed in Canada 20 odd years ago had been saved..

Went for a walk in the fields Saturday - didn't bother taking my camera which was a mistake.  Had a bright yellow SAR Sea King fly over very slow and low, then 10 minutes later an S-61 heading out to the rigs.

Gotta be the coolest looking 1800D going. And kinda neat to see an Air lab bird this far south !

The 1800D just HAS to have the largest number of flying surfaces on any aircraft in the world today!

Wings 2, Fin 1, Tailplanes 2, Downward pointing fins 2, Winglets 2, Ventral strakes 2.

How come it doesn't have canard foreplanes?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

We were coming back from a couple of days in Prague earlier this week and our train went through the central city of Pardubice.

Just before we got to Pardubice our train went past a Mi-24 Hind and a MiG-21 sitting in a lot beside the tracks. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough with the camera. I have a feeling they were recently put there or well taken care of as the looked quite clean and their canopy perpex was relatively clear from what I could see.

as i was biking along the seaside this morning (like i do everyday) i was suprised by an E-2 Hawkeye flying overhead  :o
it was a bit high up, but the H-tail and radome made it pretty obvious

must have been a French Aeronavale bird

passing by the NHV this morning on my way to the hardware store, i noted there were 2 Dauphins outside the hangar on the helipad this morning

1 was the local dauphin from NHV (the yellow one) and the other was a LOS SA365 dauphin the company has leased from the Norwegian operator (yellow & red)

dispite the dense fog, the pics came out quite well  <_<

Lovely aircraft in a lovely setting against the hoar frost, looks bloody chilly though!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A KC-135R makings its way around the pattern...I caught this image as it had just passed the house. Then I jumped in the car and positioned myself closer to the airport to get these:

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

That 2nd one is a great shot - even hanging in midair you can tell its cold :)

An amazingly clear morning here today (but darn cold!) with this amazing show of contrails out of my lounge window.

Haven't a clue what any of the types were, but I'd say there are no 747s in that lot. They make a characteristic 4-1-2 contrail, the 400s even more so, and I couldn't see any like that today. The stuff going away from the window is all on airway UL9 heading for the BASET intersection en route to Compton VOR. The few trails heading south, from left to right in the distance, could be on L18 heading for MALBY.

Great KC shots ! I like the first one, looks like she's right down there in the weeds ! The second pic is a real beauty as well, the lighting showing off the underside is awesome.

Great stuff !

Sorry if this first one is blurry.  I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I thought I had seen a Lynx.  I think, rather, that it was an Agusta 119.

Here's one from work.  No jets to speak of, but I liked seeing all the contrails.
