Here's a couple of shots from last week.  The first is a Portsmouth (VA) police "Field Operations" vehicle.

I was out running errands Saturday afternoon/evening when I heard the unmistakable sound of heavy rotors.  The sun was almost down, and it was very nearly too dark to take a picture, especially with the helo at the distance/altitude, but I hadn't snapped an aircraft photo in a week.

If you can't tell, it's an MH-53E Sea Dragon.

was too far away from the camera to catch the two Buff's, but did hear this one buzzing overhead ;

Again, too high, but I've been going through aviation photography withdrawal.  I present the flying Hyphen:

That's better, Jason. We were all getting a little bit tired of you seeing all the cool stuff !

Not over my house, but on the highway  we saw a Tesla- the $100,000 US electric sportscar.  Looked sharp, and seem be working just like a regular internal combustion car.  I was impressed.  It did have manufacturers plates on it so it had not been delivered to a lucky owner.  Hopefully I'll be seeing more electrics soon!

Good to see Portsmouth Police are thinking of the environment by introducing FlintsoneTM Technology to their vehicles (note the foot)! ;D ;D ;D
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Jschmus

Sorry, Todd, but I just had to shoot something cool again.  I only wish I had been a little faster getting out the door of the bookstore (keep your minds out of the gutter, please!).

I'm pretty sure that's another MH-60.

Another week gone by:

Monday:

US Army HUMVEE drove through town. Looked brand new

Tuesday:

Robinson R-44 flew over the school during a boring lesson...
In the afternoon, the Luftwaffe thundered back and forwards with some Tornados

Wednesday:

A single F-15 spotted over my house, with gear extended, flying towards Skrydstrup AB

Thursday:

A bunch of F-16, F-15 and Tornado everywhere in the sky...

Friday:

Nothing

:tornado:

Hawkeye

Kinda slow around here of late, did catch this CJ on the crosswind though.

The only other thing flying that I have been photographing are the Eagles gathering for mating season.

On another topic...we have plenty of snow. They are pushing back the banks to make room for MORE!!!

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

A most unusual aircraft just now flew over the house very low (minimum height I would say), time I had grabbed the camera it was gone.  Twin engined (I think) painted overall white with red cheat lines but the most notable thing about it was the continuous ring which circled the whole aircraft but not all on the same plane, it was connected to the nose, wing tips and tail.  I can't find anything about it on the internet, anyone have any ideas?

Wasn't something like this was it?

See here and here for more info.

No not like that Greg, it was a normal aircraft but had this ring much like the old WW.II magnetic anomaly detectors.  Only the ring was sort of wavy as it went from the wing tips to either end of the fuselage.  I tried to call the airports around here to find out what it is but being Saturday all you get is an answering message.

OK, I found out what I saw. It was a Casa C-212, registration C-FDKM, which is sometimes based at Red Deer Regional (which is about 65 kms away to the north west and is the direction it was heading)  Only thing is I'm sure there was red stripes or cheat lines on it and not like in the photo.

Edit: got a pic of it with some red on it.  http://jetphotos.net/showphotos.php?regsearch=C-FDKM&view=true

I found a little information.

I think their based in Sa-sa-saska-to-to-toon'.

There was news here last week that a major aerial geo surbey was going to be conducted over parts of southwestern Ontario. I was hoping to see the Twotter myself !
