Had my 1st F-35 sighting, directly overhead, yesterday. 2 of them doing a bit of ACMI at fairly high level. Just barely made out their planform but checked on ADS-B to confirm. They sound ok if nothing else.

Day before had a brace of Eagles go over in close formation. Close enough to make the Blue Angels green. Really impressive!

Just a short while ago a Hurricane cruised over heading north east, but Flightradar24 didn't show it, so I guess it was a BoB Flight aircraft without a civvie transponder.

But while watching that site I saw G-LFIX, Caroline Grace's 2 seater Mk IX was almost o'head, flying in the opposite direction to the Hurricane! So we all dashed outside to see it, but failed. :(

We heard it OK, how can you not recognise the sound of a Merlin? But it was behind the trees en route back to Sywell I expect.

All we need now is a Defiant and we'll have had the full set.  ;D

Popped over to Shuttleworth yesterday to visit the Swiss Gardens - we bought the online ticket £15 each which allows access to both the Gardens and the collection for the next 30 days, so several return visits will be on the cards. We went on the Indian [2015 Scout for the bikers lurking on here] - a tad warm with all the gear on . Enjoyed a short display by the Collections Gladiator and Sea Hurricane as they prepped for Sundays Airshow

As there's only one left (non-flying) in the entire world I think we all would be.  ;D ;D

Just departed Prestwick, about five minutes ago, the Antonov AN-225 Myra.

Came in from Boston about an hour and a half ago and is now it it's way to Chateauroux.

Certainly not. I wonder what it was carrying ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I saw it when it visited Perth, Western Australia about four years ago.   I wasn't that impressed.   I saw the AN-124 at the 1988 Australian Air Show in Sydney.  Now that impressed.  Doing a vertical turn overhead at low altitude.

Note that this same thing happened in 1990 when it broke into 3 parts and was deemed irrepairable.

It's a mess. Hope the pilot is OK.

Bugger! That is a loss. 2 persons onboard with "only" minor injuries apparently so at least that's something!

Came in here to say had a KC-135R driver come over earlier waaay too hot. They had put the gear down to increase drag which increased the noise level appreciably. The tankers aren't normally too loud but you can always tell when it is a Rivet Joint. Guess those hamster cheeks cause a bit of swirl.

A little game of catch up ! Caught a pair of KC-135s cruising by while I was at work down near Windsor, callsigns JEEP

Enbridge does their pipeline patrols and inspections with helos. Sadly, one crashed, and I've been seeing her replacement everywhere but was never able to get a good snap until now....
