Minutes ago an ADF Taipan shook the house as it passed directly over us at rooftop level.
As it's 22:10 there was little to see.
The tracker shows it has been spending its time running laps of Port Philip Bay between HMAS Cerberus and RAAF Point Cook with a couple of trips down to Point Nepean.

How embarrassing.

A number of my colleagues, living scattered around The Peninsula, reported this morning that they had similar overflights last night.

I'm 120 miles away to the east at the moment, but my local hone news feed is going on and ON about a couple of B-52s circling over Gloucester and the FoD at 2 am this morning.

Apparently bad vis delayed them landing at Fairford from wherever they'd been.

You think WWIII had started from some of the totally inane comments on there. I dare not add anything as they'd surely sling me off the site!  :banghead:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Leading Observer

C-17s landing in Columbus, Ohio, yesterday and today.  Not doing circuits.  Same one?  Passing through? Not typical for a small commercial airport, unless the president is visiting.  When I worked there we would get occasional military transients, but rarely big transports.

Captain Canada

A few birds overhead today on their way to the London ( Ontario ) International Airshow. We are heading up tomorrow to catch some practices and the evening show.

Just now a P-3 Orion, I assume that it's RAAF as it's not showing up on the flight tracker, doing low loud  circuit's over town. It's lightly raining and the cloud base is very low, it is flying way under it.

It's been nice day here today.  I guess that rain is coming our way.
The Taipan which buzzed Stately zen Manor had its transponder on, showing up on flight tracker.  What is the deciding factor for tracked or not?  Could it be something as simple as training or operational?

Or whether the appropriate contract breaker has tripped or not?

(Reminds me of the Red Arrows Gnat's 'roll rate fuse........  ;D )

No idea. To my thinking it would only be during training that their transponders might be visible to the public, but the P-3's and P-8's only come here for training as far as I can tell and they never show up on tracking...

Oh and yes the wind is blowing your general direction so the rain is likely heading for you. It's getting heavier here now too.
