Could have been lost and looking for reference points on a road map, since their version of IFR is "I Follow Roads" (as told to me by an ex-girlfriend's father, who owned the J-5 Cub Cruiser he soloed in)

And VFR is 'Visually Follow Roads'... ;D

Learned that from the book 'Chickenhawk', IIRC.

The weather was clear as a bell so no problems there. I doubt they were lost, just looking at something. It's what I would do, if I had one.

Is there a Naturalist Colony nearby? ;D  ;)

Heard an unusual noise and popped my head outside: 4 Hueys, probably Twin Hueys. Unusual for my area (near Port Columbus/John Glenn Int'l, Ohio.)  And unusual pattern: flew west, made a sharp U-turn, headed back east, in line.

I'm working in Windsor again, and was just reading this thread and decided to look at ADSB. Turns out a Chinook was coming down River at 1000 ft., so I had to run downstairs and see ! Or should I say see and hear. Love that machine.

Champ, I think, towing banner over Italian Festival in Columbus, Ohio, today.

Flyer

Just now a RAAF P-8, low (500ft or less), fast (for it's type, and faster than most things that fly over here) and loud. Must have done a missed approach at the local airport.

I've been off work the last few days and out for a few walks.  There's been a fair bit of activity.
Usual GA stuff, including a Diamond DA42 and a Piper PA-46 (don't think I've seen one of these before).

Sikorsky S-92 HM Coastguard

Several Typhoons.  Checking Flightradar, there seems to have been an exercise over the North Sea, including several types, especially a Skyhawk. Didn't see it unfortunately.

Several Hawks, including two Red Arrows, all flying into Humberside airport.  Humberside struggled to compete as an airport when Doncaster opened and diversified into maintenance, a good thing given that Doncaster has now closed.

Here's a Typhoon, or is it a fly on the lens?!? Crappy pic from my phone:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Looks like a A-4U Corsair from that angle lol.

I'm pretty sure it was Top Aces.  Looking up their Skyhawks, it's wearing the same scheme that showed up in the pic on Flightradar.

The PA-46 is a nice looking bird, for something GA. (not really a GA Snob, I just play one on the Interweb... ;D )
