Rheged

A yellow helicopter, clearly labelled ELECTRICITY   on each side, low over the local power cables early this afternoon.  I'm told it will be in the area for the rest of the week, operating out of Shobdon airfield.

perttime

Finnish army NH90 helicopter. Heard it several times but only saw it twice.
There's a multinational exercise in the area, for Police special forces.

Remnants of the King's Birthday Flypast - three bunches of Typhoons and three Hawk T2s.  FlightRadar24 indicates that the tankers/transports escaped the London CTR and TMA via Heathrow.  Dunno where the Lightnings went.

'Lightnings'.  Doesn't feel right calling them 'Lightnings', yet I dislike using 'F-35' unless in a US or other non-Brit context.  Ho hum, first world problem!

If they were proper LIghtnings they'd have engaged burners and departed vertically.  ;D  Imagine doing THAT right over Buck House?  ;D

Why not call the VTOL imposters 'JSFs'?

Or possibly have twin booms ?  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

If anyone is near Carlisle they should be alert to Chinooks, Apache and Cougars flying out of Carlisle Airport. The Netherlands Army have invaded for their regular joint training exercises over Spadeadam and the North West.
How else will they get to learn about flying around big hills?  ;D
