Pretty sure I just saw a Hornet, if so it's the first time I recall seeing one other than an airshow.  A little bit distant, but the wings were familiar.  Could have been an F-15, but I see them occasionally so I'm fairly sure it wasn't.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Otherwise, I've been out in the garden and seen a few go over.  A couple of Piper Navajos from the pollution patrol, a CHC AW-139 from the rigs and lots of noise from some Typhoons but I couldn't see them.  Also another first, a Learjet doing finals into Humberside airport.

'Seen over your Model Show today' in this case!

While trekking back and forth between different areas of the Cov Show I heard and then saw this chopper approaching to land, hauled my mini cam out and zoomed in on it just in time to catch it attempting to land on the top of a GIANT scale Saudi Arabian Lightning's fin!  ;D

He'll get spikes where he won't like them... :o

Old Wombat

I was wondering how clapped-out the Saudi Lightnings must be, if they require anti-bird spikes on their fins to stop pigeons landing on them in flight? :o

Many of the exhibits at Coventry have had the spikes added, the Argosy looks like a monster porcupine!

Rheged

There are   regular overflights by SAS helicopters  (Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin II)  , the yellow  "ELECTRICITY"  EC 135's and an assortment of  R22s and similar;  but  there's not usually anything  worth commenting on  around here.   However, we had a real live Tiger Moth  trundling over Chateau Rheged this afternoon.  It was probably making for Shobdon airfield.  No time to get out the camera, I was up a ladder pruning a rambling rose at the time.

First for me, one of the RCAF's newer aeros, the CE-145C Vigilance. Cruising overhead at 26,000 feet. Looks like she might be heading to Nellis.

Further to the Moth sighting................there it was again, flying in fairly close formation with a high wing single engined light aircraft.  I was driving, but Madame Rheged, who could assess the situation, thought it was an air to air  photographic sortie.

You don't often hear the word 'Sortie' these days.
One of those we should try to bring back.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

What a wonderful scheme that is! I wonder if there's a decal sheet for it? It'd be pretty complex to apply if there is!

Tempted to go RW to build one of them.

I saw something west bound going fast with twin fins. Either an F-15 or F-18. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the sound at first as I get the occasional low flying biz jet so by the time I looked up it was past me. Low and in a hurry.
