A bunch of us shot outside work today, as the old Herks were doing a run down the coast as a goodbye.
We caught a brief sight of them between the hills, as they banked right, to head on out to sea...  :banghead:

A short while later (when we were back inside...) there was the sound of them passing over nearby. Of course we didn't make it out in time...  :banghead:  :banghead:

A Red Arrows Hawk on approach to Humberside.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Chinook flying over Odiham with a slung load. A fairly regular occurrence as my job often takes me up that way :)

However, saw something a little more unusual in the form of a Wildcat being road transported somewhere on the M3....

Not over my house, but while at airports:

Play Airlines A320Neo. Fairly new Icelandic low cost operator, thought it was a funky colour.

I can hear those photos too!

One got stuck in the mud at Shuttleworth last week. It has been chocked to stop it rolling away

I can't imagine why one comment said it wouldn't be able to lift itself out of the mud. The mud can't have glued it in place!

Strangely, the sound caught me out. I thought it was the regular HMCG S-92 on the first pass but it got louder, then I knew what it was. Tried to snap it in the back garden but I missed it, it disappeared behind trees when I got to the front. I was wasn't caught out the second time.

Last week on my way home from work i was almost blown off the road by a very low flying NH90-MTH (Belgian AF TTH-variant).
today, i was just home having dinner when my son spotted a hot air balloon flying low over the back yard
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

5:15pm, an A400M has just overflown Chateau Rheged at about 750 feet.  Registration ZM420

'Seen over your hire car today' actually.  ;D

While driving around Lossiemouth today, en route to the Harbour Lights restaurant for a late lunch (Their kedgeree is to DIE for!  ) we drove around the east end of the active runway and watched an RAF Poseidon doing 'circuits and bumps', and I saw another one of them parked on the ramp as well.

Sorry for the poor quality pics but they were taken on my standard zoom lens at full whack, 75 mm, as my big 300 mm lens seems to have died. :(

I also saw half a dozen Typhoons lined up on the ramp, and as we were leaving the Harbour Lights FOUR of them blasted off right overhead in a REAL hurry! You may have read a news item about the RAF launching their Northern QRA to track down a civvie aircraft that didn't have its transponder switched on, and it seems that's where the Tiffies were headed. They were sure going quickly and were they ever LOUD!

This is a rubbish pic, but it's the best one of the four that I took of the Tiffies.

You can see what a cracking day it was weather wise, I've not seen a cloud since Tuesday, and they were faint and few too.
