Glider again, I'll only keep mentioning them if there's somerting noteworthy as I probably see a lot of them in the next few months.  I saw this one leap into the air like I've never seen it before, it really pulled up at high rate of climb.  It landed just a few minutes later, buxxing right over the top of the van I was driving!  Gave me a little shock, as there was just a dark shadow & then I saw a large shape in my rear view mirror.

Not an aircraft, but saw a Ford Model T going in the opposite direction as me, holding up a huge queue of traffic!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A Jet Ranger from one of the local TV outlets flew over yesterday.  I just got a quick snap just as they passed over the house.

hahahaha!!!!! here, just about every plane is Continental, with some Southwest and Delta mixed in (and sometimes Ernest Angley's 747SP [Star Triple Seven {Heavy?}] will fly over, but that is a very, very rare occasion)

When i lived in Værløse, the most common i saw was SAS MD80s, and the oh so common Crash-8 Q400 :drink: And every now and then the awesome sight of an A-340 or A-330 gliding towards copenhagen...

Whirlbirds a-go-go.  Was at my freinds in Hull listening to the Hull KR vs Huddersfield (nightmare, Rovers hardly bothered to turn up :banghead:) when a RAF Sea King buzzed down the bank of the Humber low & fast (well, as fast as Sea Kings go).  It then came back the opposite way a few minutes later.  Not long later, we walked into town via the river bank & the Humberside Police MD902 followed a similar route.  Some time later, enjoying a pint outside The Green Bricks pub on the Marina, we saw another MD902 of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (they have two now) go over.  Guess there was an incident of some kind.  Saw the Police Helicopter a little later, but it was back to normal activity, seemed to be over the Hessle Road area, in which case it was probably chasing down some local scallies!

Apart from that my Aloutte II freind made an appearance, as well as a Robinson R44 & a Cessna 152 or similar.

Saw a Royal Navy Lynx on four separate occasions over Weymouth. Three times going out to sea, and once coming back. I'm pretty sure I spotted an RFA tanker in Portland harbour on my drive into work, so I suspect it was one helo flying circuits or ferrying back and forth between the ship and Yeovilton(?). Seems a bit much to believe that the RN could afford to fly three or four helicopters on the same day!!

On a more mysterious note, I saw a small business jet over Weymouth this afternoon. Not that odd in and of itself, but it was painted black, and had what looked like a missile launch rail under each wing. Definitely some sort of pylon, anyway. Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

It's a target tug used for the RN.  The pods deploy towed radar targets, although sometimes Hawks are used as "missiles" that can be "launched" by breaking from a close formation and making a high speed run at the target ship.  They are run by a private firm, IIRC.

Ahhhh. Thanks - that had been bothering me all day. Wonder what they were doing off Portland today then?

Captain Canada

Wouldn't you know it....the one night I go out and get loaded while in NF, the next morning a C-5 flies in to refuel ! Of course I was still drunk and passed out and never heard a damn thing.....what a shame, as the hotel was a stone's throw from the aeroport. Stephenville is a wicked place to spot, with a huge runway you can see from either side.

Argh......

:banghead:

one of the RAF's merlin HC3's

two possibilities spring to mind. one is that the ship was working up so to speak and two they were having one
of those PWO courses [PWO = principal warfare officer] and the ship the course was on was being 'attacked'.

Went sailing. A television helicopter dropped by, and landed on the harbour. Took off about an hour later, returning after 30 mins. Thereafter it picked someone up and flew off.
Not just any old helicopter though, i think it has gained status as the most famous helicopter in denmark :o
