How about seen not over my house, but in the bay at work?

This is from a Detroit News article about our expansion in Sterling Heights, MI.

It's a really, really unflattering (read: REALLY BAD) picture of the VP of Combat Systems, who's based in my office.  The vehicle he's in front of is TACOM's A3 Bradley with BRAT reactive armor installed for a function over at TACOM.  We just store it when they don't want it there.  It's really impressive when we have it and the BTDII in the bay (Bradley Tech Demonstrator II), and you can compare and contrast the two together.

Not pictured are the M113A3 with bar amor and the Black Knight unmanned ground vehicle prototype (they're at the back of the bay).

That is a really bad pic of Andy.  I mean really bad.  He's gonna be so pissed when he sees it.

Not to be too nosy, but what's the mounting over the back end of the Brad turret?

That's the IBAS turret.  IBAS stands for Improved Bradley Acquisition System, ie, better targeting equipment (next gen FLIR).

The BTDII has stuff beyond the IBAS (even though its still got an IBAS).  It's what we're using for FCS spin-out technology (mock up one).  There used to be a video on Foxnews.com with the above VP showing the BTDII at an AUSA show late last year.

Well, according to the local news I missed them.  Air Force One and Marine One were in town Wednesday and left Thursday and I was at work so missed em completely.

oh dear phil! :) my sympathy, honest.

anyhow i went for a walk at 0600hrs this morning and the first thing i see when i leave is a F-27 friendship climb
out of coventry airport and the first time i have been in the right place to see this one a bit closer up. the basic
scheme was allover royal blue with yellow and orange company markings over. followed by a TUI B737 and then
a T-47A lookalike [it was perhaps a cessna citation] in quick succession.

I was coming home from lunch when a Coast Guard HH-60J flew over.  It was really low, but I couldn't get my camera up in time.

Talking of SAR aircraft, the local Leconfield Sea Kings have been making several appearances recentley.  Probably taking a look at my Cougar project!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Its a beautiful sunny day today and someone is putting a Zlin 142 through its paces not far from here. Seen him do some nice loops and wing overs and a roll or two.

Busy day over Weymouth today! At about 12:10, I heard a racket, went outside, and just caught sight of a large number (nine or thereabouts) of single-engine prop jobs in formation, heading west along the coast. Couldn't make out what they were, but some were definitely warbirds, and one or two had very long, thin wings, almost like glider wings. No idea what they were. A lot of them seemed to head back east later in the day, on their own.

Another busy day today - the Coastguard AW139 based on Portland was buzzing around all day, and a pair of Hawks in tight formation made a fast run over the harbour at lunchtime. I saw what I think was the Falcon 30 with decoy pods again at one point as well, but there was lots of low cloud so I only saw it for a second.

CHC Super Puma, probably on it's way to Humberside Airport after picking up from one of the Gas Rigs off the coast.  Heard it again later going in the opposite direction, but didn't see it due to low cloud, it's a mucky old day.  Which probably means it'll have to come back again, so I'll keep an eye & ear out!
