And it did, just a few minutes after posting!  Only just made it out through the low cloud.  Either there's two of them messing about today, or it wasn't going as far as the rigs.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

and a pair of Hawks in tight formation made a fast run over the harbour at lunchtime.

This sounded familiar, reminded me of an incident I had back in the 70's.  I was riding my motorcycle along the coast road which comes into Weymouth from the east when out of the corner of my eye I spotted a Harrier zipping in from the sea very low, I nearly crashed my bike rubber-necking as it shot right over my head as it went inland.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I saw two S-2 "Trackers" over my house. Usually a bad sign. These are fire-spotters. When I hear some big piston-engines and see them it usually means a wild fire nearby, and more than local trucks can handle. No smoke seen, however, today. Last October I had to evacuate as the "Witch Creek Fire" destroyed a whole lot of back-county San Diego (but not my house), so I am leery of seeing firefighting aricraft.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Alright.....if you guys don't start taking pics I'm gonna lose it !

Would love to see a Super Puma again, as well as a Tracker. Couple of my favourite a/c. Had some funky looking Bizjet buss my house yesterday. Had the gear down and looked like it was going to alight at marystown, MI. Had my camera in the garage and evrything...but unfortunately I was putting new tires on the kids dirtbike and my hands were waaaay to greasy to pic up the Nikon. Now, if it were a Puma or a Tracker.....

I wouldn't have got very good pics I'm afraid Todd, it wasn't much more than a smudge in the low cloud.  It's an infrequent visitor, but I'll try & snap it next time it's over.  Can't promise much though as my camera's just a point & click with a modest zoom & my street is realtively built up so by the time I've spotted her, she's usually behind another house when I find the camera!

In the mean time, I'm pretty sure the girl is G-PUME, lives up in Aberdeen usually, here she is on Airliners:

You should try to get over to Abbotsford sometime Todd, the last time I was there I saw an enclosed compound which had about fifty Tracker airframes in it, plus the one that was flying as a fire waterbomber. There were Canadian and USN Trackers in the compound.

CHC Super Puma, probably on it's way to Humberside Airport after picking up from one of the Gas Rigs off the coast.  Heard it again later going in the opposite direction, but didn't see it due to low cloud, it's a mucky old day.  Which probably means it'll have to come back again, so I'll keep an eye & ear out!

Never seen a civvie Puma round these part Mossie.  S-76s and Dauphins - all day long.  But no pumas.

Todd - you want pics?  Went to Conningsby on Thursday, got a ton of pics as soon as I sort em out.  Typhoons, Tornados, Hawks, even an Islander!
