Yesterday afternoon about 16.15, flying over north leeds, what looked very much like a hurricane flying south.
Possibly from the Sunderland airshow?

The engine growl was fantastic, that's what made us look up in the first place.

This beauty buzzed overhead and I was able to snap a photo of it!

OK....I lied.  It's just a model. It's "sotoolslinger's" American Messerschmitt with a little photographic prestidigitation.

Yesterday I was putting the dogs outside when a Southwest 737 flew over.  Went in and got the camera but he was too far away to get a pic.  So I waited.  These were taken over the next 30 minutes.

No pics, but was at Selfridge ANGB yesterday for a golf outing.  Right at the beginning of the outing, an F-16 took off and did a flyover right over the clubhouse.  Later, it showed up again for its landing.

Meanwhile, on the ramp, eight of the base's KC-135R's were being worked on, two of which spooled up and took off during the outing.  One was a recent transfer to the 171st (seeing as how it still had another unit's markings on the tail, which were partially covered), as well as eight of the 107th's F-16's.  It was sorta sad, though, because two of the F-16's had their tails repainted to show no squadron markings.  The drawdown of F-16's at the base seems to be ramping up, with those two probably heading off to Davis-Monthan soon for their retirement.

Had one of the Coastie HH-65C's fly over during the outing as well.

Pretty cool day yesterday.

EDIT:  Dang, my keyboard and computer were doing some funky edits to this post as I was typing... wow.

Well, can't match Thomas's list, but I spotted a little Piper Cherokee & an airliner in the MD-80/90/B717 family on approach to Humberside airport.  A quick look on their site identified it as Spanair Flt JKK3121 from Plama, a further look at Spanair types further ties it down to a MD-81 or 83, it seemed a touch longer than the MD-87's they run.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Over Hull University, a biz jet which I'm pretty sure was a BAe 125.  Guess it was due at Humberside airport, but It's the first time I've seen one.  Very quiet.
